Dynamic Programming for General Linear Quadratic Optimal Stochastic Control with Random Coefficients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We are concerned with the linear-quadratic optimal stochastic control problem with random coefficients. Under suitable conditions, we prove that the value field $V(t,x,\omega), (t,x,\omega)\in [0,T]\times R^n\times \Omega$, is quadratic in $x$, and has ...

Joint Angular Excursions and Angular Range Utilization During Stance‐Phase Locomotion in Terrestrial Mammals: A Comparative Morphofunctional Data Set

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Zoology Part A: Ecological and Integrative Physiology, Volume 345, Issue 4, Page 361-376, May 2026.
This study quantifies stance‐phase joint angular excursions and angular utilization (AUI%) during walking in 182 terrestrial mammal species. Across mammals, total limb excursion during stance (TAE) decreases with increasing body mass, whereas AUI% remains broadly conserved, indicating similar proportional use of summed joint excursions to generate net ...

Integrating biodiversity and business: Emerging methods driving the nature economy

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1326-1335, May 2026.
Abstract Biodiversity is increasingly recognised as a material (i.e. significant) risk to corporate value creation due to links with climate risk, land use and social equity, and through growing engagement with frameworks, such as the Taskforce on Nature‐related Financial Disclosure and Science‐Based Targets Network.

Effects of climate on size structure and functioning of aquatic food webs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In aquatic food webs, the role of body size is notoriously strong. It is also well known that temperature has an effect on body size. For instance, Bergmann’s rule states that body size increases from warm to cold climates.

Time-Delayed Quantum Feedback Control [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2015
A theory of time-delayed coherent quantum feedback is developed. More specifically, we consider a quantum system coupled to a bosonic reservoir creating a unidirectional feedback loop. It is shown that the dynamics can be mapped onto a fictitious series of cascaded quantum systems, where the system is driven by past versions of itself.

An ecosystem approach to health and its applications to tropical and emerging diseases Uma abordagem ecossistêmica à saúde e suas aplicações às doenças tropicais e emergentes

open access: yesCadernos de Saúde Pública, 2001
Disease and health outcomes occur within a complex socio-ecological context characterized by feedback loops across space and time, self-organization, holarchies, and sudden changes in organization when thresholds are reached.

A process-oriented approach to differential diagnosis and treatment planning of pediatric speech sound disorders [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
De classificatie en differentiaaldiagnose van spraakontwikkelingsstoornissen is nog altijd een controversieel thema. De verschillende diagnostische categorieën zijn gedefinieerd op procesniveau, in termen van het cognitieve proces waar de kern van de ...
