Bti BR101 exhibits strong larvicidal activity against Anopheles larvae spp., with dose‐dependent mortality and LC50 of 3.13 µg/mL. Bti increases ROS, lipid and protein oxidation, and activates antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, GPx) and detoxification pathways (MFO and esterases), indicating moderate oxidative stress.

Testing the contribution of vertebrate predators and leaf traits to mainland–island differences in insect herbivory on oaks

The authors explored how insularity influences herbivory in oaks across island–mainland sites. By experimentally excluding vertebrate predators (e.g. birds, bats) and measuring leaf traits (e.g. phenolics, specific leaf area, nutrients), they provide insights into the mechanisms driving island–mainland herbivory patterns.

Salt marsh soils can contain high concentrations of methane, but what happens to this gas? There are a few possibilities, including vertical and lateral transport, storage within the soil, and/or oxidation resulting in transport as carbon dioxide or dissolved inorganic carbon.
