Thickening of cup sidewall through sheet-bulk forming with controllable deformation zone
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2018Abstract Buckling is one of the main challenges in thickening the sidewall of a deep drawn cup. To overcome this problem, a novel sheet-bulk forming method, upsetting with a controllable deformation zone, was developed in this study to prevent the buckling during sidewall thickening.

Flange forming at an arbitrary tube location through upsetting with a controllable deformation zone
Journal of Materials Processing Technology, 2019Abstract Instability is the most common challenge faced in the production of tubular flanged parts, which is usually limited by dimensional parameters, such as the slenderness ratio of height to thickness and the ratio of initial tube thickness to final flange thickness.

Upsetting with a controllable deformation zone is a newly developed sheet-bulk forming method to thicken the sidewall of a cup. Compared with conventional upsetting, this new method can eliminate the limitation of the slenderness ratio and improve forming quality.

Abstract We describe the structural characteristics and tectonic evolution of the NNE–SSW-striking Yangsan Fault, Korea. The surface trace of the fault extends for over 170 km on land, displaying ∼20–30 km of dextral offset. It transects mainly Mesozoic–Cenozoic sedimentary and igneous rocks.

Abstract The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of brittle reactivations of continental-scale Precambrian ductile shear zones on the evolution of deformation band damage zones. Our results indicate that the Rio do Peixe Basin was formed by the Cretaceous reactivation of its basement EW- and NE-SW-striking major fault segments.
