Minimal control power of controlled dense coding and genuine tripartite entanglement [PDF]
We investigate minimal control power (MCP) for controlled dense coding defined by the channel capacity. We obtain MCPs for extended three-qubit Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger (GHZ) states and generalized three-qubit W states.

Experimental demonstration of tripartite entanglement and controlled dense coding for continuous variables [PDF]
A tripartite entangled state of bright optical field is experimentally produced using an Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen entangled state for continuous variables and linear optics.

Transmission of epi-alleles with MET1-dependent dense methylation in Arabidopsis thaliana. [PDF]
DNA methylation in plants targets cytosines in three sequence contexts, CG, CHG and CHH (H representing A, C or T). Each of these patterns has traditionally been associated with distinct DNA methylation pathways with CHH methylation being controlled by ...

RNA viruses replicate as complex mutant spectra termed viral quasispecies. The frequency of each individual genome in a mutant spectrum depends on its rate of generation and its relative fitness in the replicating population ensemble.

Presynaptic [Ca2+] and GCAPs: aspects on the structure and function of photoreceptor ribbon synapses
Changes in intracellular calcium ions [Ca2+] play important roles in photoreceptor signalling. Consequently, intracellular [Ca2+] levels need to be tightly controlled.

Deconstructing Dense Coding [PDF]
The remarkable transmission of two bits of information via a single qubit entangled with another at the destination, is presented as an expansion of the unremarkable classical circuit that transmits the bits with two direct qubit-qubit couplings between ...

Squeezed state purification with linear optics and feed forward [PDF]
A scheme for optimal and deterministic linear optical purification of mixed squeezed Gaussian states is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The scheme requires only linear optical elements and homodyne detectors, and allows the balance between ...

Mechanisms of post-transcriptional gene regulation in bacterial biofilms
Biofilms are characterized by a dense multicellular community of microorganisms that can be formed by the attachment of bacteria to an inert surface and to each other. The development of biofilm involves the initial attachment of planktonic bacteria to a
