Role of Prednisone and 25‐Hydroxyvitamin D on Bone Mineral Density and Osteoporosis in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We evaluated the role of 25‐hydroxyvitamin D (25[OH]D), prednisone, and other risk factors for bone mineral density (BMD) loss and osteoporosis in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Methods We calculated the association between 25(OH)D levels and other potential risk factors and BMD measures (spine T scores) and osteoporosis (defined as a T ...

Tracing Rights on the Ground: Spatial Controversies around Urban Development Projects

open access: yesArdeth, 2019
This article conceives an urban project as a mechanism that traces rights on the ground. First, and most relevantly, a project separates public and private land and defines what can be built.

New Onset of Fibromyalgia After Exposure to a Combat Environment: A Longitudinal Cohort Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Traumatic life events are hypothesized to be triggers for the onset of fibromyalgia. Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a common comorbidity of fibromyalgia. However, limited prospective data are available on the development of fibromyalgia after exposure to high‐magnitude stress.

A nonperturbative parametrization and scenario for EFT renormalization

open access: yes, 2009
We present a universal form of the $T$-matrices renormalized in nonperturbative regime and the ensuing notions and properties that fail conventional wisdoms. A universal scale is identified and shown to be renormalization group invariant.

Developing and Evaluating a Laboratory‐Based Frailty Index (FI‐Lab) for the Prediction of Long‐Term Health Outcomes in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective We aimed to construct and evaluate the first laboratory‐based frailty index (FI‐Lab) for predicting adverse outcomes in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and to compare its predictive ability to that of an existing clinical frailty index (FI).

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.
