Photothermal Macroporous Lignin Cryogels for Off‐Grid, Continuous Atmospheric Water Collection via Interlayer Heat Recovery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Photothermal, macroporous lignin‐based cryogels are engineered to convert sunlight into low‐grade heat. Integrated as stacked beds in a drum‐type device, a thin copper interlayer transfers waste heat between beds, enabling interlayer heat recovery and continuous solar cycling.

Boundedness, existence and uniqueness results for coupled gradient dependent elliptic systems with nonlinear boundary condition

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis
In this paper, we study coupled elliptic systems with gradient dependent right-hand sides and nonlinear boundary conditions, where the left-hand sides are driven by so-called double phase operators.

Magnetothermal Convection of Water with the Presence or Absence of a Magnetic Force Acting on the Susceptibility Gradient. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Heat transfer of magnetothermal convection with the presence or absence of the magnetic force acting on the susceptibility gradient (fsc) was examined by three-dimensional numerical computations.

Laser‐Welded Cellulose‐Carbon Nanotube Nanocomposites as a 3D Scaffold of Si Anodes for High‐Performance Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Si anode comprising entangled networks of cellulose and SWCNT (C‐CNT) nanocomposites as an anode electrode for a high‐performance LIB is realized by fully utilizing the generated microstructure of a novel conductive 3D scaffold via a low‐temperature and eco‐friendly process. Additionally, localized heating via photo‐thermal conversion can be utilized

Existence and nonexistence of positive solutions of nonlinear elliptic equations involving singular term and convection term

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations
This paper establishes the existence and nonexistence of positive solutions for a class of Dirichlet problems involving singular nonlinearities and gradient-dependent terms. The nonlinearities considered are subcritical in the Sobolev sense. Our approach

Mimicking Block Copolymer Self‐Assembly with One‐Pot Synthesized Polyphosphoester Gradient Copolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Degradable Polyphosphoester (PPE) gradient copolymers (GCPs) are synthesized via one‐pot copolymerization. We show that GCPs self‐assemble into nanostructures like polymersomes, effectively mimicking the behavior of traditional BCPs. The gradient strength is key, with softer gradients favoring micelles.

Existence and asymptotic behavior of a unique solution to a singular Dirichlet boundary-value problem with a convection term

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
In this article, we consider the problem $$ -\Delta u =b(x)g(u)+ \lambda a(x)|\nabla u|^{q}+\sigma(x),\; u > 0,\; x\in \Omega,\quad u|_{\partial \Omega }= 0 $$ with $\lambda\in\mathbb{R}$, $q\in [0, 2]$ in a smooth bounded domain $\Omega$ of ...

On an electrorheological fluid equation with orientated convection term

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2019
A kind of electrorheological fluid equations with orientated convection terms is considered. If the diffusion coefficient a(x,t)∈C1(QT‾) $a(x,t)\in C^{1}(\overline{Q_{T}})$ is degenerate on the boundary ∂Ω, not only the uniqueness of weak solution is ...

Bioinspired Polypeptide Dendrimer‐Modified Thin‐Film Composite Membranes for Selective Lithium‐Magnesium Separation with DFT Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We fabricated a biomimetic dendrimer‐modified thin‐film nanocomposite membrane with a coordination‐assisted ion‐selective interface. pH‐responsive polypeptide sites preferentially bind Mg2+ and promote Li+ permeation, as predicted by density functional theory calculations of metal‐ligand interactions.

Layer resolving numerical scheme for singularly perturbed parabolic convection-diffusion problem with an interior layer

open access: yesMethodsX, 2023
Singularly perturbed parabolic convection-diffusion problem with interior layer is a type of singularly perturbed boundary value problems which have sign change properties in the coefficient function of the convection term.
