Time‐Resolved Dynamics of Laser Ablation in Liquid with Gas‐Evolving Additives: Toward Molding the Atomic Structure of Nonequilibrium Nanoalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser ablation in liquid still holds great potential for the synthesis of multicomponent non‐equilibrium nanomaterials. Here, time‐resolved experiments reveal that gas‐evolving additives both have chemical effects and reduce shockwave pressure. This approach offers a strategy to control the atomic structure of the nanoalloys, easily switching from ...

Surface‐Engineered Cenospheres Encapsulating Phase Change Materials for Functional Cementitious Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The global energy demand drives the need for advanced energy‐efficient building solutions. While current polymeric‐shell microencapsulated PCMs show promise for thermal energy storage, their use in cementitious materials is challenged by poor shell strength and interfacial bonding. This study develops novel cement‐compatible microencapsulated PCM using

Ternary Inclusion Co‐Crystals for Efficient Photothermal Conversion and Solar‐Driven Water Evaporation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An inclusion co‐crystal strategy for elevating photothermal conversion efficiency is developed. A Tröger's base molecular box strongly bind two electron‐deficient TCNQ forming 1:2 ternary inclusion charge‐transfer co‐crystals, which displays a high photothermal efficiency of 94.3%.
