Successful Isoproterenol Treatment for Ventricular Fibrillation Storm in Early Repolarization Syndrome With SCN5A Mutation

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 1, January 2026.
Suppression of VF storm in ERS with SCN5A mutation using isoproterenol. ABSTRACT A 58‐year‐old man experienced a ventricular fibrillation storm with prominent inferolateral J waves and was diagnosed with early repolarization syndrome. Initial coronary angiography showed no significant stenosis and the other evaluations for ventricular fibrillation were

Contemporary Evidence, Treatment Strategies, and Indications for Chronic Total Occlusion-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention

open access: yesEuropean Medical Journal, 2017
Chronic total occlusions (CTOs) are detected incidentally in ˜20% of patients undergoing coronary angiography and are often associated with significant morbidity and mortality. CTOs can manifest with worsening symptoms, reduced left ventricular function,

Sonication‐Assisted Palladium Nanogaps in a Capacitive Structure: A Tunable and Reliable Solution for Sensitive Hydrogen Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 52, December 23, 2025.
This study presents a capacitive hydrogen sensor with a simple structure and process. Sonication‐induced Pd nanogaps modulate the effective electrode area in response to hydrogen concentration, resulting in capacitance changes within a range predefined by physical parameters.

Novel Bioconjugate Materials: Synthesis, Characterization and Medical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 31, December 8, 2025.
This review discusses the bioconjugation of novel materials grouped under “biological”, “hybrid” and “synthetic” categories. Medical applications ranging from cancer therapy and diagnostics to optogenetics and tissue engineering are explored, and conjugation trends are highlighted as a general guide. The review concludes with a comparison of techniques

VERMONT: Vessel Fractional Flow Reserve (vFFR) Assessment of Stenosis Severity: A Prospective Study

open access: yesCatheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, Volume 106, Issue 7, Page 3757-3765, December 1, 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Vessel fractional flow reserve (vFFR) is an angiogram‐based technique validated in early studies; however, data on its real‐time diagnostic performance and integration into routine workflow remain limited. Aims The VERMONT study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy and time efficiency of real‐time vFFR versus conventional wire‐based ...

Association of Ticagrelor Metabolic SNPs With Adverse Drug Reactions in Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 48, Issue 12, December 2025.
The CYP3A5 rs776746 CC genotype is a strong biomarker for ticagrelor‐induced dyspnea, conferring a 2.3‐fold higher risk. Genotype‐guided antiplatelet therapy may mitigate this adverse reaction, enabling personalized treatment for ACS patients. ABSTRACT Background Dual antiplatelet therapy with aspirin and a P2Y₁₂ inhibitor is standard for patients with

Toward Fossil‐Free Steelmaking: Overview of Physiochemical Properties of Hydrochar and Its Application in Blast Furnace and Electric Arc Furnace Processes

open access: yescScience, Volume 1, Issue 1, December 2025.
ABSTRACT The steel industry is among one of the largest CO2 emitters in the world. To meet climate targets, replacing fossil‐based carbon with renewable biocarbon in metallurgical processes, particularly in blast furnaces (BFs) and electric arc furnaces (EAFs), has emerged as a viable short‐ to mid‐term solution.

First evaluation of a novel pulsatile LVAD: Feasibility and haemodynamic impact in acute heart failure

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 6, Page 4171-4183, December 2025.
The pulsatile ventricular assist platform (pVAP) was connected to a membrane pump in six large swine models. The system, driven by a conventional intra‐aortic balloon pump console (IABP), was utilized to drain left atrial blood during systole and to eject the collected blood back into the ascending aorta during diastole.

Adaptation of right ventricular function following tricuspid transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 6, Page 4451-4462, December 2025.
Right ventricular remodelling following tricuspid transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair. After T‐TEER, most patients either maintain or decrease their RVEF, while only a minority experience an increase. Patients with increased RVEF were associated with TR worsening and worse prognosis.

Guideline‐directed medical therapy after revascularization and outcomes in ischaemic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 6, Page 4442-4450, December 2025.
Among patients with ischaemic heart failure undergoing revascularisation, those receiving GDMT had lower unadjusted mortality rates. The combination of GDMT and CABG was associated with the best long‐term outcomes. In real‐world practice, the use of GDMT increased over time, reflecting a growing emphasis on guideline‐based therapy even after ...
