Converging Technologies, Converging Nations, Converging Regulations

Free Speech Yearbook, 2000
Convergence of technologies is creating a single, global multi-media market where traditional regulatory concepts are no longer adequate. This article explores the scope and early phases of regulatory convergence examining approaches to and sources of regulation in an ever increasingly globalized media world.

Cyrtologies of Convergences, II: Sequential Convergences

Mathematische Nachrichten, 1986
Based on the cyrtomorphisms (dual: coilomorphisms), studied in part I [see ibid. 126, 327-348 (1986; Zbl 0604.54005)] and on a study of elementary filters, here in part II the authors investigate the relationships between sequential convergences and topologies, pretopologies and pseudotopologies.

Convergence, Absolute Convergence and Strong Convergence with Periodicity

Journal of the London Mathematical Society, 1973
We write \(| S|\in Z_k\), where \(k\) \((\geq 1)\) is a positive integer, if the series \(\sum_{n=0}^\infty (S_{n+k}-S_n)\) converges, and call \(Z_k\) the space of all convergent sequences of period \(k\). Here several theorems have been proved, connecting the \(Z_k\), \(| Z_k|\), \(C_\alpha\), \(| C_\alpha|\) etc. Following are the first two theorems

Nearness Convergence

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1990
AbstractIn this paper, a concept of nearness convergence is introduced which contains the proximal convergence of Leader as a special case. It is proved that uniform convergence and this nearness convergence are equivalent on totally bounded uniform nearness spaces. One of the features of this convergence is that it lies between uniform convergence and

Convergence accommodation

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1983
Steady-state accommodation responses were measured in both eyes as a function of vergence angle and direction of lateral gaze. The measurements were made with a binocular laser optometer. Small speckle patterns were used as fusional stimuli in an otherwise dark field.

Convergence Insufficiency

Optometry and Vision Science, 1984
A retrospective study of 110 subjects with convergence insufficiency has been completed. Their mean age was 19.9 years. There were 72 females and 38 males in the group. The clinical profiles of these subjects were examined before and after a standard orthoptic treatment regimen. Over the course of treatment, the near angle of deviation, the AC/A ratio,

Strategy convergence

Business Strategy Review, 2009
In fast‐changing industries like communications, having the right strategy is critical to success. Didier Bonnet and George Yip explain why business models and strategic planning must converge into strategic formulation.

The convergence of convergence

Aslib Proceedings, 2001
Examines, the relative merits of digital information platforms. Included are online systems, CD‐ROM, the Web and mobile distribution platforms. Proposed a methodology to assist in the determination of the relative merits of the platforms. Reach and Complexity are the two key characteristics used to ‘type’ the various platforms.

Media convergence

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2013
Digital technologies have transformed the way many creative works are generated, disseminated and used. They have made cultural products more accessible, challenged established business models and the copyright system, and blurred the boundary between producers and consumers.
