A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 39, Issue 3, Page 566-581, March 2025.
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

BGP convergence in an MRAI-free Internet

open access: yesComputer Networks
In this paper, we study the effect of reducing the use of BGP's MRAI mechanism in the Internet. MRAI stands for Minimum Route Advertisement Interval and it is a timer that rate-limits BGP route announcements. In particular, we look into the effects of MRAI removal by simulating router topologies representing all the Autonomous Systems (ASes) in the ...

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

On the semilocal convergence of derivative free methods for solving nonlinear equations

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Analysis and Approximation Theory, 2012
We introduce a Derivative Free Method (DFM) for solving nonlinear equations in a Banach space setting. We provide a semilocal convergence analysis for DFM using recurrence relations. Numerical examples validating our theoretical results are also provided

An Optimal Biparametric Multipoint Family and Its Self-Acceleration with Memory for Solving Nonlinear Equations

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2015
In this paper, a family of Steffensen-type methods of optimal order of convergence with two parameters is constructed by direct Newtonian interpolation. It satisfies the conjecture proposed by Kung and Traub (J. Assoc. Comput. Math.

Evaluation of the Potential of Laser Shock Peening Compared with Cold Expansion for Improving Fatigue Resistance of Riveted Lap Joints of Aerospace Grade 7175 Al Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser shock peening for enhancing fatigue performance of riveted aerospace aluminum joints. A comparative approach with cold expansion combines fatigue testing and synchrotron X‐ray methods. Integrating mechanical testing with residual stress and strain characterization provides insights into how different treatments affect the ...

Precision Tracking of Industrial Manipulators via Adaptive Nonsingular Fixed-Time Sliding Mode Control

open access: yesMathematics
This paper presents a novel adaptive fixed-time sliding mode control (AFxTSMC) framework for industrial manipulators. The proposed adaptive reaching law (ARL) enables rapid and stable gain reduction by leveraging the current parameter values to maintain ...

On the Positive Effect of Delay on the Rate of Convergence of a Class of Linear Time-Delayed Systems

open access: yes, 2019
This paper is a comprehensive study of a long observed phenomenon of increase in the stability margin and so the rate of convergence of a class of linear systems due to time delay.

Is Young's Modulus a Critical Coating Property Determining Fouling‐Release Performance of Marine Coatings?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The release of foulers from protective marine coatings is determined by several interrelated material properties, including the strength of Young's modulus, the flexibility of chain segments, the surface free energy, and the magnitude of hydrodynamic stress.

Regularity and convergence properties of finite free convolutions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics
Finite free convolutions, [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text], are binary operations on polynomials of degree [Formula: see text] that are central to finite free probability, a developing field at the intersection of free probability and the geometry of polynomials.
