Pointlike Material Accumulation and Displacement in Azopolymer Thin Films Driven by Spatial Light Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A maskless, SLM‐driven approach enables the deterministic inscription of arbitrary topographical features in azopolymer films by mapping complex vectorial light fields onto local viscoplastic stress. This platform allows for the rapid generation and dynamic erasure of high‐aspect‐ratio micro‐spikes, offering a versatile tool for reconfigurable flat ...

Dynamic Fluorescence Modulation via Light‐Driven Competitive Protonation

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐component molecular system demonstrates reversible, light‐driven fluorescence write–erase cycling and thermal imaging. Illumination of a merocyanine photoacid transfers a proton to a highly efficient fluorescent pyridinium dye, switching its emission color; thermal relaxation reverses the process in the dark.

Coherent Absorption Reveals Colors Hidden in a Grey Fabry–Pérot Cavity

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A dielectric thin film shows colors depending on its thickness; this effect can be used to encode information normally accessible through single‐beam spectroscopy. We developed a method to conceal this kind of information, based on coating the dielectric with a matched conductor, that suppresses the color‐bearing thin‐film resonances.

Spectral Reconstruction Using Broadband Inkjet‐Printed Optical Filters

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A proof‐of‐concept for a reconstructive spectrometer based on inkjet‐printed interferometric optical filters is demonstrated. Through adaptive encoding and robust post‐processing algorithms, spectral reconstruction is achieved over a 400 nm visible bandwidth at a fraction of the cost and complexity of typical encoders while maintaining high optical ...
