Advances in Radiative Heat Transfer: Bridging Far‐Field Fundamentals and Emerging Near‐Field Innovations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review synthesizes the evolution of radiative heat transfer, emphasizing the transition from far‐field to near‐field regimes. Traditional frameworks, such as Planck's law, are revisited alongside modern innovations like fluctuational electrodynamics. Applications span nanoscale thermal management, energy harvesting, and thermophotovoltaic systems.

Light‐Mediated Photomultiplication via Cascade Energy Transfer in Organic Photodiode

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Light‐mediated photomultiplication via cascade energy transfer in organic photodiode demonstrates external quantum efficiency exceeding 200% and specific detectivity surpassing 5.0 × 1013 Jones. This advancement effectively addresses the limitation of elevated dark current density characteristic of prior photomultiplication organic photodetectors ...

Relative log convergent cohomology and relative rigid cohomology I [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
In this paper, we develop the theory of relative log convergent cohomology. We prove the coherence of relative log convergent cohomology in certain case by using the comparison theorem between relative log convergent cohomlogy and relative log crystalline cohomology, and we relates relative log convergent cohomology to relative rigid cohomology to show

Roulette‐Inspired Physical Unclonable Functions: Stochastic yet Deterministic Multi‐Bit Patterning through the Solutal Marangoni Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Geometric multi‐bit patterning based on dynamic wetting and dewetting phenomena creates roulette‐like Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) labels with stochastic yet deterministic properties. This method leverages the solutal‐Marangoni effect for high randomness while achieving deterministic multinary patterns through polygonal confinement of binary ...

A novel perspective to gradient method: the fractional order approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this paper, we give some new thoughts about the classical gradient method (GM) and recall the proposed fractional order gradient method (FOGM). It is proven that the proposed FOGM holds a super convergence capacity and a faster convergence rate around the extreme point than the conventional GM.

3D Nano‐architected Polymer Shell Enables Reconfigurable Stabilized Blue Phase Soft Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Spherical polymer shells featuring nanostructure of blue phase (BP) disclinations form via in situ photo‐polymerization within BP liquid crystals, providing controlled anchoring for BP nucleation and growth at room temperature and beyond. This architected confinement enhances BP thermal stability over a broad temperature range while enabling dynamic ...

Psychometric properties of the Brazilian version of the lived experience component of the Spiritual Health And Life-Orientation Measure (SHALOM)

open access: yesPsicologia: Reflexão e Crítica, 2018
This study had the following aims: (i) to translate the Spiritual Health and Life-Orientation Measure (SHALOM) into Brazilian Portuguese and adapt it to ensure the semantic/conceptual equivalence and content validity of the Brazilian version and (ii) to ...

The worst-case root-convergence factor of GMRES(1) [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this work, we analyze the asymptotic convergence factor of minimal residual iteration (MRI) (or GMRES(1)) for solving linear systems $Ax=b$ based on vector-dependent nonlinear eigenvalue problems. The worst-case root-convergence factor is derived for linear systems with $A$ being symmetric or $I-A$ being skew-symmetric.

Active Learning‐Driven Discovery of Sub‐2 Nm High‐Entropy Nanocatalysts for Alkaline Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy nanoparticles (HENPs) hold great promise for electrocatalysis, yet optimizing their compositions remains challenging. This study employs active learning and Bayesian Optimization to accelerate the discovery of octonary HENPs for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions.
