General Conversion between ANCF and B-spline Surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, general conversion equations are derived between Absolute Nodal Coordinates Formulation (ANCF) finite surface elements and B-spline surfaces, an extension of our previous work on the conversion between ANCF cable elements and B-spline curves.

Remembering a Conversation – A Conversational Memory Architecture for Embodied Conversational Agents

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Systems, 2017
AbstractThis paper addresses the role of conversational memory in Embodied Conversational Agents (ECAs). It describes an investigation into developing such a memory architecture and integrating it into an ECA. ECAs are virtual agents whose purpose is to engage in conversations with human users, typically through natural language speech.

ConvoGen: Enhancing Conversational AI with Synthetic Data: A Multi-Agent Approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
In this paper, we present ConvoGen: an innovative framework for generating synthetic conversational data using multi-agent systems. Our method leverages few-shot learning and introduces iterative sampling from a dynamically updated few-shot hub to create diverse and realistic conversational scenarios.

Gated Embeddings in End-to-End Speech Recognition for Conversational-Context Fusion [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
We present a novel conversational-context aware end-to-end speech recognizer based on a gated neural network that incorporates conversational-context/word/speech embeddings. Unlike conventional speech recognition models, our model learns longer conversational-context information that spans across sentences and is consequently better at recognizing ...

Broaden your SCOPE! Efficient Multi-turn Conversation Planning for LLMs with Semantic Space [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Large language models (LLMs) are used in chatbots or AI assistants to hold conversations with a human user. In such applications, the quality (e.g., user engagement, safety) of a conversation is important and can only be exactly known at the end of the conversation.
