Motion Adaptive Scan Rate Up-conversion
Multidimensional Systems and Signal Processing, 1992The interlaced scan format and the low frame rate in current television systems cause visible degradation in picture quality. To improve the picture, scan rate up-conversion can be implemented in the receiver. Typically, the up-conversion algorithms needed in stationary scenes are different from those needed in nonstationary scenes.

High frame rate video conversion
IP Streams, Control, and Production, 2014SMPTE is discussing high frame rates within the Ultra-High-Definition Television (UHDTV) Study Group and, in particular, conversions from high frame rates to today's integer and fractional standards. Although it seems an easy problem to upconvert and downconvert between frame rates when there is a simple multiplier, for example, between 119.88 and 59 ...

RECONFIGURABLE NEWTON STRUCTURE FOR SAMPLE RATE CONVERSION
2018 IEEE Global Conference on Signal and Information Processing (GlobalSIP), 2018In this paper, a novel method for designing reconfigurable Newton structure is proposed. The Newton structure is a variable fractional delay filter that implements Lagrange interpolation only. This structure has been extended later in the literature to implement other types of interpolation, such as Spline and Hermite interpolations.

Calculation of mode conversion rates
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1978The rate at which energy is exchanged between acoustic normal modes due to scattering from ocean bottom roughness is calculated using measured correlation functions of ocean bottom slopes. Estimates of the resulting attenuation of the coherent component of the first normal mode are obtained and are compared to scattering losses predicted using the ...

Vacuum, 1980
The problem of converting leak rates measured for one gas at one pressure to leak rates for another gas at another pressure generally has no unique solution; only limits can be given. The present paper discusses the calculation of worst-case conversion divisors, with special regard to the H 6 /SF 6 case.

Speech rate adjustment of adults during conversation
Journal of Fluency Disorders, 2018Speech rate convergence has been reported previously as a phenomenon in which one's speech rate is influenced by his/her partner's speech rate. This phenomenon has been demonstrated in artificial settings, and to some extent, in mother-child interactions.
