Thyristor Converter Control System

2021 IEEE 2nd KhPI Week on Advanced Technology (KhPIWeek), 2021
The transient processes that take place in thyristor converter-motor systems depend on a large number of parameters. Although the operation of the thyristor converter has been studied for some time, with the development of computer technology, the possibilities of studying these objects are significantly expanded.

Predictive Control Strategy for Converters

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983
Abstract Converters are of importance in industrial applications. Improvements in the range of applications and the static and dynamic characteristics of converters are desired. Users might be interested in controlling converter voltages and currents by microcomputers, because it is very easy to implement different control algorithms for different ...

Digital control of HVDC converters

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1989
A description is provided of a completely digital HVDC converter controller based on a 16 bit microcomputer. The design comprises software programmed functions such as a proportional-integral-derivative current control amplifier, voltage-dependent current-order limiters and an alpha-minimum symmetrization unit, among others. HVDC control principles are

New PWM-Controlled GTO Converter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1985
A new pulsewidth modulation (PWM)-controlled GTO converter circuit is proposed. An auxiliary circuit capacitor is used to treat the commutating energy in the main circuit and to clamp the commutating impulse voltage at the desired level with the fundamental power factor of unity. An analysis of the circuit operation is verified experimentally.
