Harmonic load losses in HVDC converter transformers

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1991
Short-circuit losses were measured on a 213 MVA single-phase converter transformer at a number of frequencies between 60 Hz and 6 kHz. Using the results of these tests the harmonic losses during AC/DC converter operation were calculated. Variations of harmonic losses with transformer reactance, transformer winding stray loss factor and converter firing

Transformation of a delta: Converting estuaries to lakes

Advances in Space Research, 1983
Abstract In this century large-scale transformations have been carried out in the delta of the Rhine, Meuse and Scheldt in The Netherlands. The following principal consequences are considered: the loss of estuarine ecosystems, the change in the process of sedimentation and erosion, and the development of new aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.

Piezoelectric transformer converter with frequency control

Proceedings of INTELEC 95. 17th International Telecommunications Energy Conference, 2002
An efficient piezoelectric transformer (PT) power converter with frequency control is presented. The optimum-designed reactance components are able to keep power efficiency high while controlling the output voltage for some load variation. An implemented PT power converter with frequency control achieves an efficiency higher than 75% at V/sub o/=5 V, I/

A transformer-like model for the DC/AC converter

IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2003, 2004
The paper proposes a two-port model of the inverter leg as building block to simulate the various topologies of switched-mode DC/AC converters, overcoming the problems encountered with the usual switch-diode simulation approach while retaining the interaction between the AC and DC sides.

“Converted and always converting”: Transformational spirituality as metanoia

International Review of Mission, 2010
AbstractThis paper reflects from the local context on the issues of living in creation, and explores to what extent, if at all, our theology of creation leads our ethics and spirituality of creation. It begins by examining the theology of creation that is voiced within the author's church.

Synthesis and analysis of transformer-isolated converters

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1995
A systematic and straightforward procedure is developed for the synthesis and analysis of transformer-isolated power converters. The procedure can be used to determine the ranges of duty-ratio over which the transformer-isolated power converters of a given class can be operated without transformer saturation. The procedure can also be used to study the
