Harmonic load losses in HVDC converter transformers

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1991
Short-circuit losses were measured on a 213 MVA single-phase converter transformer at a number of frequencies between 60 Hz and 6 kHz. Using the results of these tests the harmonic losses during AC/DC converter operation were calculated. Variations of harmonic losses with transformer reactance, transformer winding stray loss factor and converter firing

Power converters simulation via wavelet transforms

COM.P.EL.98. Record 6th Workshop on Computer in Power Electronics (Cat. No.98TH8358), 2002
This paper presents a new approach for the analysis and the resolution of power electronics circuits, based on the Haar set of orthogonal wavelet functions. A simple recursive algorithm for construction of the integral and convolution matrix, associated with these operators in the domain, are proposed.

T-ADZ-a novel converter transformer

Ninth International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power. Proceedings (Cat. No.00EX441), 2002
This paper presents a novel converter transformer, T-ADZ, based upon the special autotransformer ADZ. This new topology allows the mitigation of voltage imbalance as well as reducing noncharacteristic harmonics produced by power converters connected to an unbalanced voltage supply.

Piezoelectric transformer converter with PWM control

Proceedings of Applied Power Electronics Conference. APEC '96, 2002
A piezoelectric transformer (PT) converter with PWM is presented. The active-clamp technique makes it possible to control the output voltage with PWM even if the PT converter operates in a resonant fashion. The PT converter with PWM control was implemented on a printed circuit board.

“Converted and always converting”: Transformational spirituality as metanoia

International Review of Mission, 2010
AbstractThis paper reflects from the local context on the issues of living in creation, and explores to what extent, if at all, our theology of creation leads our ethics and spirituality of creation. It begins by examining the theology of creation that is voiced within the author's church.

Dry type transformers for power converters

2006 India International Conference on Power Electronics, 2006
Dry type transformers differ from oil immersed transformers mainly in cooling conditions. Converter transformers generally involve more coils, distorted waveforms and high currents. This paper discusses the special cooling conditions needed for dry type transformers, focusing on novel calculation techniques and an easy approach to the design of coils ...
