The Prediction Performance Analysis of the Lasso Model with Convex Non-Convex Sparse Regularization

open access: yesAlgorithms
The incorporation of ℓ1 regularization in Lasso regression plays a crucial role by inducing convexity to the objective function, thereby facilitating its minimization; when compared to non-convex regularization, the utilization of ℓ1 regularization ...

Perturbation of convex risk minimization and its application in differential private learning algorithms

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2017
Convex risk minimization is a commonly used setting in learning theory. In this paper, we firstly give a perturbation analysis for such algorithms, and then we apply this result to differential private learning algorithms.

Convex analysis and ideal tensegrities

open access: yesComptes Rendus. Mécanique, 2011
Abstract A theoretical framework based on convex analysis is formulated and developed to study tensegrity structures under steady-state loads. Many classical results for ideal tensegrities are rationally deduced from subdifferentiable models in a novel mechanical perspective. Novel energy-based criteria for rigidity and pre-stressability are provided,

Microphysiological Systems for Comorbidity Studies: Chronic Kidney Disease and Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights the potential of organ‐on‐a‐chip systems for studying comorbidities, using chronic kidney disease (CKD) and osteoarthritis (OA) as examples. It summarizes recent advances in kidney‐on‐a‐chip and joint‐on‐a‐chip models and discusses their current and potential application in investigating CKD, OA, and CKD‐OA comorbidity, aiming to

Decoding Hydrogel Porosity: Advancing the Structural Analysis of Hydrogels for Biomedical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Porosity governs transport mechanics in hydrogels, yet characterization in its native state remains challenging. This work harnesses particle tracking to uncover three‐dimensional pore geometric features in polyethylene glycol hydrogels. Measurements in the native state reveal pores characteristics are comparable to those obtained by cryogenic scanning

Engineering Anisotropic Mechanical Properties in Large‐Scale Fabricated Cartilage Constructs Using Microfiber Reinforcement

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents the development of large‐scale (15 cm2) cartilage constructs with anisotropic mechanical properties using melt electrowritten (MEW) microfiber reinforced cell‐laden gelatin methacryloyl (gelMA). These constructs mimic the mechanical behavior of native cartilage, providing a suitable environment for Articular Cartilage ...

3D Bioprinted Renal Constructs Using Kidney‐Specific ECM Bioink System on Kidney Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A kidney‐specific bioink derived from decellularized porcine kidney tissue supports the encapsulation, viability, and maturation of human primary kidney cells within 3D bioprinted constructs. In vivo, it also promotes the recruitment of host renal progenitor cells, collectively enhancing structural and functional regeneration of renal tissue.

Cephalometrically analysis of the convexity angle

open access: yesStomatoloski glasnik Srbije, 2003
The convexity angle of facial bone structures ( N-A: A-Pg) expresses the sagittal protrusion of the maxillary part of the face compared to facial profile (the convex or concave face). The convexity angle is defined as the angle colligated by the lines N-A and A-Pg.
