Convex Analysis on Hadamard Spaces and Scaling Problems

Foundations of Computational Mathematics, 2022
In this paper, we address the bounded/unbounded determination of geodesically convex optimization on Hadamard spaces. In Euclidean convex optimization, the recession function is a basic tool to study the unboundedness, and provides the domain of the ...

Stability Analysis for Delayed Neural Networks via a Generalized Reciprocally Convex Inequality

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2022
This article deals with the stability of neural networks (NNs) with time-varying delay. First, a generalized reciprocally convex inequality (RCI) is presented, providing a tight bound for reciprocally convex combinations.

Convex multiresolution analysis

Proceedings of Third International Symposium on Time-Frequency and Time-Scale Analysis (TFTS-96), 1998
A standard wavelet multiresolution analysis can be defined via a sequence of projection operators onto a monotone sequence of closed vector subspaces possessing suitable invariance properties. We propose an extension of this framework in which the linear projection operators are replaced by nonlinear retractions onto convex sets.

Discrete Convex Analysis and Its Applications in Operations: A Survey

Production and operations management, 2019
Discrete convexity, in particular, L ♮ ‐convexity and M ♮ ‐convexity, provides a critical opening to attack several classical problems in inventory theory, as well as many other operations problems that arise from more recent practices, for instance ...
