An Intensity Measure‐Based Methodology for Ground Motion Orientation in Seismic Structural Assessment

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In current dynamic time history assessment protocols, ground motion recordings are mostly oriented along fixed sensor directions. Consequently, the orientation of the principal resultant of rupture energy, which may control the maximum structural demand, remains undefined, precluding consistent correlation with physically detrimental ...

Hexapod Locomotion Across Structured and Unstructured Terrains: A Data‐Driven Review of Modeling, Control, and Validation

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The design of a hexapod is complex and requires integration between kinematic models, control systems, and sensing. Existing literature has reviewed these sub‐systems in isolation. Since 2021, there has been no review of the field despite significant advancements in soft soil, lunar traversal, and artificial intelligence.

ON THE HADAMARD’S INEQULALITY FOR CONVEX FUNCTIONS ON THE CO-ORDINATES IN A RECTANGLE FROM THE PLANE [PDF]

open access: yesTaiwanese Journal of Mathematics, 2001
In [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 167, No. 1, 49-56 (1992; Zbl 0758.26014)] the author introduced some mappings in connection with Hadamard's inequality for convex functions on a real interval. Some inequalities for these mappings were also given. This paper contains similar results for functions defined on a rectangle and convex in the directions of the sides ...

On Hermite–Hadamard–Fejér-type inequalities for co-ordinated trigonometrically ρ-convex functions

open access: yesAsian-European Journal of Mathematics, 2022
In this paper, we first obtain Hermite–Hadamard–Fejér inequalities for co-ordinated trigonometrically [Formula: see text]-convex functions. By using these obtained inequalities, we give some inequalities involving Riemann–Liouville fractional integrals.

Local Eviction Moratoria and the Spread of COVID‐19

open access: yesSouthern Economic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT At different stages during the initial onset of the COVID‐19 pandemic, various US states and local municipalities enacted eviction moratoria. One of the main aims of these moratoria was to slow the spread of COVID‐19 infections. We deploy a semiparametric difference‐in‐differences approach with an event study specification to examine whether ...

Some New Quantum Hermite–Hadamard Inequalities for Co-Ordinated Convex Functions

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In this paper, we establish some new versions of Hermite–Hadamard type inequalities for co-ordinated convex functions via q1,q2-integrals. Since the inequalities are newly proved, we therefore consider some examples of co-ordinated convex functions and show their validity for particular choices of q1,q2∈(0,1).

The plasticisation model of dye diffusion: Part 8

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Re‐evaluation using the Williams–Landel–Ferry equation, of exhaustion/rate of dyeing/fixation data previously reported for and acid dye, natural dye and two reactive dyes on three different types of silk substrate revealed that thermally activated dye diffusivity is governed by the thermally regulated structural relaxation times of the ...

A global perspective on the annual cycles of whimbrels

open access: yesIbis, EarlyView.
Comparative analyses are central to understanding broad‐scale patterns in avian ecology, yet their application is often constrained by fragmented and uneven data availability. Recent advances in tracking technology have generated unprecedented insights into shorebird movements, resulting in numerous studies on single populations or flyways.

Two‐dimensional guillotine cutting problem for large objects with non‐rectangular shapes

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, EarlyView.
Abstract In this paper, we address the two‐dimensional single large object placement problem with guillotine cutting constraints, focusing on non‐rectangular shapes. We consider objects with circular or convex polygonal geometries and study a variant that includes defective regions from which no items can be extracted. Rectangular items are cut using a
