Robust Full‐Surface Bonding of Substrate and Electrode for Ultra‐Flexible Sensor Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A direct hybrid bonding method that enables both gold and parylene bonding without adhesives is developed. This technique achieves full‐surface direct bonding of electrodes and substrates in flexible electronic connections. The method offers high flexibility, stable mechanical durability, and high‐resolution interconnections, accommodating varying ...

Optimized Temporal Interference Stimulation Based on Convex Optimization: A Computational Study

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering
Temporal interference (TI) stimulation is a non-invasive method targeting deep brain regions by applying two pairs of high-frequency currents with a slight frequency difference to the scalp.

Distributed Optimization of Convex Sum of Non-Convex Functions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We present a distributed solution to optimizing a convex function composed of several non-convex functions. Each non-convex function is privately stored with an agent while the agents communicate with neighbors to form a network. We show that coupled consensus and projected gradient descent algorithm proposed in [1] can optimize convex sum of non ...

Abstract convex optimal antiderivatives

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Henri Poincaré C, Analyse non linéaire, 2012
Having studied families of antiderivatives and their envelopes in the setting of classical convex analysis, we now extend and apply these notions and results in settings of abstract convex analysis. Given partial data regarding a c -subdifferential, we consider the set of all c -convex

Mechanochromic, Low‐Cost, and Structurally Colored Displays Using Biodegradable Hydroxypropyl Cellulose

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Mechanochromic hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) integrated with microfluidic devices creates scalable, eco‐friendly reflective color displays. We demonstrate mechanochromic displays with 500 µm pixel size and 5Hz switching rates with room for optimisation. The proposed mechanochromic HPC displays are an initial step toward more environmentally responsible

RSS-TOA based localization algorithm in non-line-of-sight environment

open access: yesDianxin kexue, 2019
The existence of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) error can degrade the positioning performance in wireless sensor network localization system, especially in indoor localization. To overcome the localization error caused by NLOS propagation,a localization ...

A Note on Nesterov's Accelerated Method in Nonconvex Optimization: a Weak Estimate Sequence Approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
We present a variant of accelerated gradient descent algorithms, adapted from Nesterov's optimal first-order methods, for weakly-quasi-convex and weakly-quasi-strongly-convex functions. We show that by tweaking the so-called estimate sequence method, the derived algorithm achieves optimal convergence rate for weakly-quasi-convex and weakly-quasi ...

Lower Bounds for Higher-Order Convex Optimization [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
State-of-the-art methods in convex and non-convex optimization employ higher-order derivative information, either implicitly or explicitly. We explore the limitations of higher-order optimization and prove that even for convex optimization, a polynomial dependence on the approximation guarantee and higher-order smoothness parameters is necessary.

Flexible Selenium Nanowires with Tuneable Electronic Bandgaps

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Nanotubes serve as effective test tubes for selenium nanowires, as their diameter precisely controls the width of the nanowires and the Se─Se bonding, resulting in a variety of different structures. An electron beam can be used to modify the nanotubes, allowing real‐time observation of the nanowire extrusion process. Additionally, optically transparent
