A novel, simple coccygeal intervertebral disc degeneration model, using a suturing method for tail‐looping, without the need for external fixation and complex surgery. The model has high reproducibility and stability and overcomes the disadvantages of the existing animal models of disc degeneration.

Phosphine→Borane‐Functionalized Pyrenes and Anthracenes

P→B motifs are readily and regioselectively appended to pyrene and anthracene. In contrast with the borylative fusion approach recently developed for related N→B‐functionalized polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, such P→B functionalization does not extend the π‐system.

Enantio‐ and Diastereoselective Synthesis and Spiral‐Stair‐Like Single Helix Assembly of Figure‐Eight Cyclophenylenes

We present here the enantio‐ and diastereoselective synthesis of chiral figure‐eight [10]cyclophenylenes via the rhodium‐catalyzed four consecutive intramolecular [2 + 2 + 2] cycloadditions of dodecaynes with two flexible biphenyl units, resulting in increased rotational freedom of the reaction intermediates.

Biomimetic Adhesion/Detachment Using Layered Polymers with Light‐Induced Rapid Shape Changes

Geckos achieve rapid adhesion and detachment through their hierarchically structured toe pads. Inspired by this, we developed a crosslinked polymer film with a nanoscale layered structure that undergoes high‐speed, reversible expansion, and contraction under UV light.
