Fast and oblivious convolution quadrature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We give an algorithm to compute $N$ steps of a convolution quadrature approximation to a continuous temporal convolution using only $O(N \log N)$ multiplications and $O(\log N)$ active memory.

Continuous wavelet transform on local fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The main objective of this paper is to define the mother wavelet on local fields and study the continuous wavelet transform (CWT) and some of their basic properties.

A Cre‐dependent lentiviral vector for neuron subtype‐specific expression of large proteins

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We designed a versatile and modular lentivector comprising a Cre‐dependent switch and self‐cleaving 2A peptide and tested it for co‐expression of GFP and a 2.8 kb gene of interest (GOI) in mouse cortical parvalbumin (PV+) interneurons and midbrain dopamine (TH+) neurons.

Nested (inverse) binomial sums and new iterated integrals for massive Feynman diagrams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Nested sums containing binomial coefficients occur in the computation of massive operator matrix elements. Their associated iterated integrals lead to alphabets including radicals, for which we determined a suitable basis.

A comparative analysis of preprocessing techniques of cardiac event series for the study of heart rhythm variability using simulated signals

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 1998
In the present study, using noise-free simulated signals, we performed a comparative examination of several preprocessing techniques that are used to transform the cardiac event series in a regularly sampled time series, appropriate for spectral analysis

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

On the product formula and convolution associated with the index Whittaker transform

open access: yes, 2019
We deduce a product formula for the Whittaker $W$ function whose kernel does not depend on the second parameter. Making use of this formula, we define the positivity-preserving convolution operator associated with the index Whittaker transform, which is ...

A fast and exact $w$-stacking and $w$-projection hybrid algorithm for wide-field interferometric imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The standard wide-field imaging technique, the $w$-projection, allows correction for wide-fields of view for non-coplanar radio interferometric arrays. However, calculating exact corrections for each measurement has not been possible due to the amount of

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

α-Mellin Transform and One of Its Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
MSC 2010: 35R11, 44A10, 44A20, 26A33, 33C45We consider a generalization of the classical Mellin transformation, called α-Mellin transformation, with an arbitrary (fractional) parameter α > 0. Here we continue the presentation from the paper [5], where we
