Weighted Sum of Correlated Lognormals: Convolution Integral Solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Probability density function (pdf) for sum of n correlated lognormal variables is deducted as a special convolution integral. Pdf for weighted sums (where weights can be any real numbers) is also presented.

A comparative study of circulating tumor cell isolation and enumeration technologies in lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Lung cancer cells were spiked into donor blood to evaluate the recovery rates of the following circulating tumor cell (CTC) enrichment technologies: CellMag™, EasySep™, RosetteSep™, Parsortix® PR1, and Parsortix® Prototype systems. Each method's advantages and disadvantages are described.

Evaluation of Some Convolution Sums and Representation Numbers of Quadratic Forms of Discriminant -135

open access: yes, 2015
We evaluate the convolution sums P l+135m=n (l) (m); P 3l+45m=n (l) (m); P 5l+27m=n (l) (m); P 9l+15m=n (l) (m); P l+45m=n (l) (m), P 5l+9m=n (l) (m); and P 3l+15m=n (l) (m) for all n N, using the theory of quasimodular forms and determine the number of ...

The second moment of twisted modular L-functions

open access: yes, 2014
We prove an asymptotic formula with a power saving error term for the (pure or mixed) second moment of central values of L-functions of any two (possibly equal) fixed cusp forms f, g twisted by all primitive characters modulo q, valid for all ...

Plasma lipidomic and metabolomic profiles in high‐grade glioma patients before and after 72‐h presurgery water‐only fasting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Presurgery 72‐h fasting in GB patients leads to adaptations of plasma lipids and polar metabolites. Fasting reduces lysophosphatidylcholines and increases free fatty acids, shifts triglycerides toward long‐chain TGs and increases branched‐chain amino acids, alpha aminobutyric acid, and uric acid.

On a convolution series attached to a Siegel Hecke cusp form of degree 2

open access: yes, 2013
We prove that the "naive" convolution Dirichlet series D_2(s) attached to a degree 2 Siegel Hecke cusp form F, has a pole at s=1. As an application, we write down the asymptotic formula for the partial sums of the squares of the eigenvalues of $F$ with ...

Targeting the MDM2‐MDM4 interaction interface reveals an otherwise therapeutically active wild‐type p53 in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study investigates an alternative approach to reactivating the oncosuppressor p53 in cancer. A short peptide targeting the association of the two p53 inhibitors, MDM2 and MDM4, induces an otherwise therapeutically active p53 with unique features that promote cell death and potentially reduce toxicity towards proliferating nontumor cells.

A Characterization of the Compound Multiparameter Hermite Gamma Distribution via Gauss’s Principle

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2013
We consider the class of those distributions that satisfy Gauss's principle (the maximum likelihood estimator of the mean is the sample mean) and have a parameter orthogonal to the mean.

CERTAIN COMBINATORIC CONVOLUTION SUMS AND THEIR RELATIONS TO BERNOULLI AND EULER POLYNOMIALS

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper, we give relationship between Bernoulli-Euler polynomials and convolution sums of divisor functions. First, we establish two explicit formulas for certain combinatoric convolution sums of divisor functions derived from Bernoulli and Euler ...

Thermal proteome profiling and proteome analysis using high‐definition mass spectrometry demonstrate modulation of cholesterol biosynthesis by next‐generation galeterone analog VNPP433‐3β in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Elevated level of cholesterol is positively correlated to prostate cancer development and disease severity. Cholesterol‐lowering drugs, such as statins, are demonstrated to inhibit prostate cancer. VNPP433‐3β interrupts multiple signaling and metabolic pathways, including cholesterol biosynthesis, AR‐mediated transcription of several oncogenes, mRNA 5′
