Subuniformity of harmonic mean p$$ p $$‐values
Abstract We obtain several inequalities on the generalized means of dependent p$$ p $$‐values. In particular, the weighted harmonic mean of p$$ p $$‐values is strictly subuniform under several dependence assumptions of p$$ p $$‐values, including independence, negative upper orthant dependence, the class of extremal mixture copulas, and some Clayton ...

On the link between Binomial Theorem and Discrete Convolution of Polynomials
Let $\mathbf{P}^{m}_{b}(x), \; m\in\mathbb{N}$ be a $2m+1$-degree integer-valued polynomial in $b,x\in\mathbb{R}$. In this manuscript we show that Binomial theorem is partial case of polynomial $\mathbf{P}^{m}_{b}(x)$. Furthermore, by means of $\mathbf{P}

New techniques for the two-sided quaternionic fourier transform [PDF]
In this paper, it is shown that there exists a Hermite basis for the two-sided quaternionic Fourier transform. This basis is subsequently used to give an alternative proof for the inversion theorem and to give insight in translation and convolution for ...

GPU Acceleration of Image Convolution using Spatially-varying Kernel
Image subtraction in astronomy is a tool for transient object discovery such as asteroids, extra-solar planets and supernovae. To match point spread functions (PSFs) between images of the same field taken at different times a convolution technique is ...

Optimal dividends for a NatCat insurer in the presence of a climate tipping point
Abstract We study optimal dividend strategies for an insurance company facing natural catastrophe claims, anticipating the arrival of a climate tipping point after which the claim intensity and/or the claim size distribution of the underlying risks deteriorates irreversibly.

Local Stability of the Free Additive Convolution
We prove that the system of subordination equations, defining the free additive convolution of two probability measures, is stable away from the edges of the support and blow-up singularities by showing that the recent smoothness condition of Kargin is ...

A priori bounds for the generalised parabolic Anderson model
Abstract We show a priori bounds for solutions to (∂t−Δ)u=σ(u)ξ$(\partial _t - \Delta) u = \sigma (u) \xi$ in finite volume in the framework of Hairer's Regularity Structures [Invent Math 198:269–504, 2014]. We assume σ∈Cb2(R)$\sigma \in C_b^2 (\mathbb {R})$ and that ξ$\xi$ is of negative Hölder regularity of order −1−κ$- 1 - \kappa$ where κ<κ¯$\kappa <

Limit theorems for free multiplicative convolutions [PDF]
We determine the distributional behavior for products of free random variables in a general infinitesimal triangular array. In the case of positive variables, the main theorem extends a result proved earlier for arrays with identically distributed rows. The case of unitary variables is considered as well.

Fourier Mass Lower Bounds for Batchelor‐Regime Passive Scalars
ABSTRACT Batchelor predicted that a passive scalar ψν$\psi ^\nu$ with diffusivity ν$\nu$, advected by a smooth fluid velocity, should typically have Fourier mass distributed as |ψ̂ν|2(k)≈|k|−d$|\widehat{\psi }^\nu |^2(k) \approx |k|^{-d}$ for |k|≪ν−1/2$|k| \ll \nu ^{-1/2}$.
