A class of convolution codes

open access: yesInformation and Control, 1963
Summary: This paper describes a class of infinite convolution codes which are designed to minimize the time required to recover from an erasure burst on the binary erasure channel. It is shown that for any given rate, there exists a unique optimum erasure burst correcting code.

Evolutionary Algorithm Aided Interleaver Design for Serially Concatenated Codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper, we propose an algorithm for designing the interleavers of Serially Concatenated Codes (SCCs), in order to increase the Minimum Hamming Distance (MHD) between the legitimate permutations of the encoded bit sequence and hence to improve the ...

Transparent and Robust LiCl–Organohydrogel Triboelectric Nanogenerator With Deep Learning Assisted Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Develop a LiCl–PEI–PAM hydrogel with 3000% stretchability and excellent optical transparency. Through comparative studies of various salts, confirm that LiCl is the most suitable salt for high TENG output. Achieve excellent freeze‐resistant, dry‐resistant, and rapid self‐healing (10 s) properties even in extreme environments. Balance ionic conductivity,

Near-capacity irregular variable length coding and irregular unity rate coding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this contribution we introduce an EXtrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) chart matching technique for the design of two serially concatenated irregular codecs, each constituted by a variety of component codes.

Ferroelectric Quantum Dots for Retinomorphic In‐Sensor Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work has provided a protocol for fabricating retinomorphic phototransistors by integrating ferroelectric ligands with quantum dots. The resulting device combines ferroelectricity, optical responsiveness, and low‐power operation to enable adaptive signal amplification and high recognition accuracy under low‐light conditions, while supporting ...

Fast Convolutional Sparse Coding [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2013
Sparse coding has become an increasingly popular method in learning and vision for a variety of classification, reconstruction and coding tasks. The canonical approach intrinsically assumes independence between observations during learning. For many natural signals however, sparse coding is applied to sub-elements ( i.e.

Near-capacity iterative decoding of binary self-concatenated codes using soft decision demapping and 3-D EXIT charts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this paper 3-D Extrinsic Information Transfer (EXIT) charts are used to design binary Self-Concatenated Convolutional Codes employing Iterative Decoding (SECCC-ID), exchanging extrinsic information with the soft-decision demapper to approach the ...
