Auftragssteuerung bei geringer Variabilität: ConWIP

2016
Wir skizzieren ConWIP und vergleichen das System mit Kanban-Systemen. Wir erortern den Anwendungsbereich von ConWIP.

Modified CONWIP systems: a review and classification

Production Planning & Control, 2014
Purpose: Constant work-in-process (CONWIP) system is one of the most recognised pull systems. New CONWIP systems are constantly derived in research. This study reviews and classifies these new (modified) systems. Methodology: Relevant studies are systematically screened and reviewed.

CONWIP: closed or semi-open queuing network?

International Journal of Operational Research, 2015
Closed queuing networks (CQNs) are generally used to model CONWIP systems. An implicit assumption in the CQN model is that whenever the work-in-process (WIP) level goes below the set value, there is always a job waiting for the released kanban. In other words, there are an infinite number of jobs in the external queue and as a result the kanban never ...

Hybrid Kanban/CONWIP Control

2011
The basic idea behind a hybrid Kanban/CONWIP control is to combine the decentralized WIP control from Kanban with the centralized WIP control from CONWIP. This method for controlling production was developed and evaluated in simulation studies by Bonvik, Couch and Gershwin [Bonv-97*]. In simulation studies with comparable WIP levels the method achieved

Hybride Kanban-Conwip-Steuerung

2016

Determining inventory levels in a CONWIP controlled job shop

IIE Transactions, 2000
We extend the concept of CONWIP control to a job shop setting, in which multiple products with distinct routings compete for the same set of resources. The problem is to determine the fixed overall WIP level and its allocation to product types (WIP mix) to meet a uniformly high customer service requirement for each product type.

Analysis of production control systems kanban and CONWIP

International Journal of Production Research, 1996
In this paper we describe and classify different pull production systems. The production control systems kanban and CONWIP are then analysed with respect to production rate and average W1P. We examine single product flow lines with exponential service time distributions and unlimited demand at the final buffer (saturated lines).

Multi-Product CONWIP System Performance Analysis

The increasingly competitive and volatile market requires an adequate production management system to develop customized and unique products quickly and at the lowest possible cost to meet customer needs. The main aim of this chapter is to design a simulation model for studying the behavior patterns of selected performance measures, including mean ...

Sequencing policy for a CONWIP production system

2014
The optimization of the performance of a constant Work-in-Progress (CONWIP) production system through the sequencing of its backlog list is investigated. The performance measures considered are throughput, optimum WIP level (m*), and flow time. Analysis of the effects of sequence dependent bottlenecks on system performance is provided.
