Determination of the cooling capacity for body ventilation system
European Journal of Applied Physiology, 2011Body ventilation systems (BVS) are effective in reducing heat strain, but the amount of heat that a BVS removes from a human body is unclear. The purpose of this study was to propose a method for quantifying BVS cooling capacity using manikin evaluation and modeling.

High breaking capacity fuses with improved cooling
International Journal of Thermal Sciences, 2013Abstract This paper describes a high breaking capacity fuse with improved cooling. The fuse is equipped with only heat sinks or heat sink and fan, an idea derived from the power semiconductor devices field. Some 3D thermal models are proposed for every analysed case of natural and forced cooling.

Cooling capacity of plate type research reactors during the natural convective cooling mode
Progress in Nuclear Energy, 2012Abstract Numerical investigations on the cooling capacity of plate type research reactors during the natural convective cooling mode are fulfilled in the present study. The cooling capacity, as a thermal core design criterion, is determined by the onset of nucleate boiling (ONB) temperature margin.

Dynamic capacity rating for wind cooled overhead lines
22nd International Conference and Exhibition on Electricity Distribution (CIRED 2013), 2013This paper shows that with presently applied static capacity rating for overhead lines there is a high unutilized capacity a large percentage of the time. The possibility for applying dynamic line rating in order to reduce or postpone reinforcements of overhead lines using weather measurements in the power line corridor and thus not causing delays for ...

Mass recovery adsorption refrigeration cycle—improving cooling capacity
International Journal of Refrigeration, 2004The study investigates the performance of two-bed, silica gel-water adsorption refrigeration cycle with mass recovery process. The cycle with mass recovery can be driven by the relatively low temperature heat source. In an adsorption refrigeration cycle, the pressures in adsorber and desorber are different.
