Reduction of Maximum and Residual Drifts on Posttensioned Steel Frames with Semirigid Connections
The aim of this paper is to study the seismic performance of self-centering moment-resisting steel frames with posttensioned connections taking into account nonlinear material behavior, for better understanding of the advantages of this type of ...

Ductility and Strength Reduction Factors for Degrading Structures Considering Cumulative Damage
The effect of cumulative damage on the strength requirements of degrading structures is assessed through the evaluation of the target ductility and corresponding strength reduction factors of simple degrading structures.

The hysteretic energy (EH) dissipated in posttensioned steel frames (PTSF) with hysteretic dampers is calculated by using equivalent single-degree-of-freedom systems (ESDOFS), where the nonlinearity of both the steel bars (beam and columns) and the ...

Abstract Cooperations or transfers of the German technical and vocational education and training (TVET) system have taken place in different cultural contexts in recent decades. In Mexico, the so‐called Modelo Méxicano de Formación Dual has been adapted to Mexico's cultural conditions. Yet, it still seems to be largely unknown in society, the education

Germline mutations in pediatric cancer cohort with mixed-ancestry Mexicans. [PDF]
We found that 15% of confirmed mixed‐ancestry Mexican patients were carriers of germline mutations in CDKN2A, CHEK2, DICER1, FANCA, MSH6, MUTYH, NF1, and SBDS. This first report identifies potential genetic risk factors and provides a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms of childhood cancer in this population. Abstract Background Childhood

Galectin-1 Elicits a Tissue-Specific Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Degradative Effect Upon LPS-Induced Response in an Ex Vivo Model of Human Fetal Membranes Modeling an Intraamniotic Inflammation. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Problem Intrauterine infection is one of the most jeopardizing conditions associated with adverse outcomes, including preterm birth; however, multiple tolerance mechanisms operate at the maternal–fetal interface to avoid the rejection of the fetus.

Chronic consumption of β‐sitosterol‐β‐D‐glucoside (BSSG), a neurotoxin contained in cycad seeds, leads to Parkinson’s disease in humans and rodents. Here, we explored whether a single intranigral administration of BSSG triggers neuroinflammation and neurotoxic A1 reactive astrocytes besides dopaminergic neurodegeneration.

Leishmania mexicana: Novel Insights of Immune Modulation through Amastigote Exosomes
Exosomes are extracellular microvesicles of endosomal origin (multivesicular bodies, MVBs) constitutively released by eukaryotic cells by fusion of MVBs to the plasma membrane. The exosomes from Leishmania parasites contain an array of parasite molecules such as virulence factors and survival messengers, capable of modulating the host immune response ...
