Coordinate transformations in object recognition.
Psychological Bulletin, 2006A basic problem of visual perception is how human beings recognize objects after spatial transformations. Three central classes of findings have to be accounted for: (a) Recognition performance varies systematically with orientation, size, and position; (b) recognition latencies are sequentially additive, suggesting analogue transformation processes ...

Coordinate transform invariance
Foundations of Physics, 1996A four-dimensional operator is shown to contain the operator-generators for rotation, scale, reflections, and boosts. The hypothesis is advanced that a physical system changes under this operator by at most a complex phase factor due to invariance against the choice of menial frame.

Curvilinear Coordinates, Local Coordinate Transformations
2019The reader probably has experience in using polar coordinates on the 2D plane, or spherical coordinates in the 3D space. Below, we consider a general treatment of curvilinear coordinate systems, which include these and many other examples.

Transforming Coordinate Spaces
2017In the past chapters, we mentioned transformations between coordinate spaces multiple times, but we deferred a more detailed explanation until this chapter.

Relativistic Coordinate Transformation
2017Lorentz coordinate transformations explore change of measurement of events by different inertial observers; the body is still in the same state of motion as before; it is the observer who is changing her frame of reference. However, we can also ‘boost’ material bodies using a simple modification of the Lorentz coordinate transformation.
