Inference of Leadership of Coordinated Activity in Time Series

open access: yes, 2019
When a group of people decides to move somewhere together, who is the initiator who starts moving and everyone follows? Do the group members follow friends around them or do they prefer to follow specific individuals? These questions are about leadership.

Swahili coordinated infinitives and non-canonical case-marking

open access: yes, 2017
Swahili exhibits a construction where a tensed and an infinitival clause are coordinated. This is an example of “unbalanced” coordination insofar as one verb is tensed and the other is not.

Histological Characterization and Comparative Transcriptomic Analysis of Gonads During Early Sex Differentiation in the Northern Snakehead (Channa argus)

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study delineates the early sex differentiation timeline in the northern snakehead (Channa argus). These findings provide a foundation for future sex‐control breeding in this economically important species. ABSTRACT The northern snakehead (Channa argus) is an economically important aquaculture species in China.

中国語におけるCQWC構文の構造とwh等位節の形成

open access: yes
本稿では、中国語のwh等位節(Wh-coordinate Complex)を含む文の構造を考察し、中国語wh等位節を許す条件及びその構造について議論する。結論として、中国語のwh等位節はmono-clausal構造を持つと主張する。This paper focuses on wh-coordination in CQWC (Conjoined Question Words Construction) in Mandarin Chinese.

Optimizing Strategies for Non‐Invasive Prospection of Settlements in the Intertidal Zone: A Case Study From the Centre of the Drowned Medieval Village of Tolsende (Scheldt Estuary, the Netherlands)

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Medieval and early modern drowned villages in the intertidal zone of the Scheldt estuary (the Netherlands) constitute intriguing yet largely understudied components of north‐western Europe's underwater cultural heritage. Despite their high archaeological potential as time capsules of past settlement landscapes, research has remained limited ...

A Multifaceted Interplay Among Hemophagocytosis, Interleukin‐18, and Type I Interferon Distinguishes Still Disease From Other Autoinflammatory Diseases

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, EarlyView.
Objective The unknown pathophysiology and the lack of specific features for systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis and adult‐onset Still disease (collectively known as Still disease; SD) delay diagnosis and appropriate treatment. The goal of this study was to identify features and mechanisms that distinguish SD from other systemic autoinflammatory ...

The role of IgM anti‐acetylated protein antibodies and B cells in the origin of anti‐modified protein autoimmunity in rheumatoid arthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is characterized by anti‐modified protein antibodies (AMPAs), including anti‐citrullinated (ACPA), anti‐carbamylated (anti‐CarP), and anti‐acetylated (AAPA) protein antibodies. In contrast to other AMPAs, AAPA IgM is found in healthy individuals, raising questions about its role in early immune responses.

Numerical and Experimental Assessment of Oxygen Distribution in a Perfusion Bioreactor to Mimic the Osteochondral Niche

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Oxygen supply is a critical parameter in 3D cell cultivation using bioreactors. Since bioreactor designs often prioritise practical constraints, understanding the oxygen supply dynamics of the media is crucial for achieving either uniform or spatially controlled oxygen delivery.

Harnessing ferroptosis from multilayer defense networks to nanoplatforms for specific cancer therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials target metabolically‐regulated ferroptosis for cancer therapy. Iron‐based or alternative nanoplatforms integrate ferroptosis with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiotherapy. They enable stimulus‐responsive therapies (photothermal, photodynamic, sonodynamic) activated by near‐infrared, light, or ultrasound, achieving potent synergistic ...

THE VERTICAL COORDINATION CONTINUUM AND THE DETERMINANTS OF FIRM-LEVEL COORDINATION STRATEGY

open access: yes
A number of past authors have argued that vertical coordination strategies lie along a continuum running from spot markets to vertical integration. However, the strategies that make up the middle of this continuum have remained ill defined and the sense ...
