Concatenate coordination and mutual coordination [PDF]
Abstract We tell of the evolving meaning of the term coordination as used by economists. The paper is based on systematic electronic searches (on “coord,” etc.) of major works and leading journals. The term coordination first emerged in professional economics around 1880, to describe the directed productive concatenation of factors or activities ...

On the Complexity of Coordination [PDF]
Many results on repeated games played by finite automata rely on the complexity of the exact implementation of a coordinated play of length n. For a large proportion of sequences, this complexity appears to be no less than n. We study the complexity of a coordinated play when allowing for a few mismatches.

Computer Standards & Interfaces, 1999Coordination models, languages and systems have been developed since the beginning of the eighties. Their initial focus was on process coordination in parallel systems. The work on Linda initially aimed at providing a way to express parallelism in computations that is independent of the underlying machine architecture (Carriero and Gelernter, 1989 ...

Let K be a field of characteristic zero. Based on the degree estimate of Makar-Limanov and Yu, we prove that the preimage of a coordinate under an injective endomorphism of K〈x, y〉 is also a coordinate. As by-products, we give new proofs of the following results: (1) the preimage of a coordinate under an injective endomorphism of K[x,y] is also a ...
