RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Photoluminescent Lanthanide(III) Coordination Polymers with Bis(1,2,4-Triazol-1-yl)Methane Linker
A series of new lanthanide(III) coordination polymers with the general formula [Ln(btrm)2(NO3)3]n, where btrm = bis(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)methane and Ln = Eu3+, Tb3+, Sm3+, Dy3+, Gd3+ were synthesized and characterized by IR-spectroscopy, elemental ...

Single domain proteins are thought to be tightly packed. The introduction of voids by mutations is often regarded as destabilizing. In this study we show that packing density for single domain proteins decreases with chain length. We find that the radius

Supramolecular Assembly of Ag(I) Centers: Diverse Topologies Directed by Anionic Interactions. [PDF]
Ag(I)-Ag(I) interactions in supramolecular structures have been achieved through the use of structural support from the ligand frames. In structures involving simple ligands like pyridine, strong π-π interaction leads to spatial ordering of the ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Novel "green" catalysts for controlled ring-opening polymerization of lactide [PDF]
Syntéza polylaktidu (PLA) polymerací za otevření kruhu cyklického monomeru (ROP) může být uskutečněna různými způsoby. Literatura uvádí více než 100 katalytických systémů, jejichž pomocí lze polylaktid a jiné biodegradabilní alifatické polyestery získat.

Spanning trees for the geometry and dynamics of compact polymers
Using a mapping of compact polymers on the Manhattan lattice to spanning trees, we calculate exactly the average number of bends at infinite temperature. We then find, in a high temperature approximation, the energy of the system as a function of bending

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Modeling solid state stability for speciation: a ten-year long study [PDF]
Speciation studies are based on fundamental models that relate the properties of biomimetic coordination compounds to the stability of the complexes. In addition to the classic approach based on solution studies, solid state properties have been recently

Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (
