Evaluating the Impact of Multi-Source Digital Elevation Model Quality on Archeological Predictive Modeling: An Integrated Framework Based on Machine Learning and SHAP-Based Interpretability Analysis

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) constitute a core data source for Archeological Predictive Modeling. However, how quality differences among multi-source DEM propagate through complex models and subsequently affect predictive accuracy and geographic ...

New Method to Correct Vegetation Bias in a Copernicus Digital Elevation Model to Improve Flow Path Delineation

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Digital elevation models (DEM) are widely used in many hydrologic applications, providing key information about the topography, which is a major driver of water flow in a landscape.

Literary portraits of Nicolaus Copernicus for the young [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
The Year of Nicolaus Copernicus provides an excellent opportunity to reach out not only to contemporary, but also to slightly older and forgotten works intended for young readers that introduce the figure of the famous astronomer. Reading these works is

Strong Coupling in Bulk Nanoplasmonic Nanoplatelet Perovskite Scintillators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A bulk scintillating nanocomposite is engineered from CsPbBr3 nanoplatelets and Ag nanocubes to support exciton–plasmon strong coupling under X‐ray excitation. The resulting hybrid polaritonic states appear directly in radioluminescence, opening a route toward polariton‐enabled scintillator design beyond conventional Purcell enhancement.

Evaluating the Vertical Accuracy of Global DEMs Using ICESat-2 and Its Cascading Impact on HAND-Based Flood Modeling in a Low-Gradient Coastal Plain

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Driven by climate change and population growth, coastal flood risk is rising, making high-precision Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) essential for inundation simulation and risk assessment.

Preserving Motor Features by Alternative Re‐Referencing to Remove Heart Artifact on the Stentrode

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Endovascular brain‐computer interfaces record neural activity from within cerebrovasculature, at the expense of electrocardiogram contamination. Band‐limited independent component analysis separates this heart‐based artifact from task‐relevant neural activity in each frequency band, enabling the reconstruction of cleaner neural recordings without the ...

Comparative geospatial and statistical analysis of DEM-derived geomorphic indices from multiple datasets for assessing relative active tectonics

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk
Tectonic activity plays a vital role in achieving sustainable land management and hazard mitigation in seismically active regions. This study evaluates geomorphic indices derived from four digital elevation models (DEMs), including SRTM, Copernicus, FAB,

Low Latency Global Carbon Budget Reveals Late 2024 Carbon Losses and Contrasting Early 2025 Land Sink Recovery Signals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Low latency carbon budget estimates for July 2024–June 2025 combine atmospheric CO2 growth rates, fossil emissions, ocean uptake, DGVM land fluxes, and OCO‐2 inversions. The budget shows that late‐2024 land carbon losses dominate the annual anomaly, while early‐2025 recovery differs between bottom‐up models and top‐down inversions, especially in ...
