Analysis of asymmetrical coplanar waveguides

International Journal of Electronics, 1981
Conformal mapping techniques are used to obtain analytic closed-form expressions for the characteristic impedance of asymmetrical coplanar waveguides with infinite dielectric thickness. The line asymmetry lends to a decrease of the average performance range of line characteristic impedances.

A novel type of waveguide-to-coplanar waveguide adapter

18th International Conference on Infrared and Millimeter Waves, 1993
A novel type of waveguide-to-coplanar waveguide adapter is proposed, which offersfairly good broadband performance of transsition in Ka-band as revealed byexperiment. It is believed that it is very useful in the system where MIMIC's areutilized with waveguide devices together.

An Investigation of the Characteristics of Coplanar Waveguide and Terminations and Coplanar Waveguide Probes for On-Wafer Measurement Applications

36th ARFTG Conference Digest, 1990
Both CPW and GCPW guiding structures have been discussed. Their modal and dispersive properties have been presented both quantitatively and visually. Examples of canonical discontinuities in CPW were presented and computations and measurements were compared. An entirely new examination of a typical on-wafer CPW probe was carried out.

Single Sided Coplanar Waveguide

2018 IEEE 27th Conference on Electrical Performance of Electronic Packaging and Systems (EPEPS), 2018
A single-sided variant of ground-backed coplanar waveguide is presented and compared to microstrip and traditional symmetric GB-CPW. Potential advantages include reduced PC board real-estate consumption, good signal isolation, and ability to add-on transmission-line components including filters and impedance matching stubs during prototyping ...

The electrode analyses of coplanar waveguides

2012 Conference on Precision electromagnetic Measurements, 2012
The main purpose of this paper is to study the relationship of CPW's structural parameters while the benchmark impedance of CPW is 50Ω, and the CPW of LiTaO3 electro-optical modulator is taken as an example. Conformal mapping theory is used to obtain the numerical relationship of electrode structure, thickness of the substrate and properties parameters,

Subterahertz attenuation in coplanar waveguides

IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2005., 2005
In this paper, the attenuation of coplanar waveguides (CPWs) with wide and narrow ground planes have been simulated and compared with experimental results up to 1 THz. By assessing the validity of the full-wave analysis, the subterahertz attenuation of CPWs can be predicted.

Ferrite-Coupled Coplanar Waveguide

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2008
A novel coplanar waveguide ferrite-coupled line (CPW FCL) is presented and numerically verified for the first time. The proposed CPW FCL exhibits a low insertion loss for both even and odd mode excitations, equal power division for single power excitation with both isolation, and return loss better than 10 dB over the whole operating bandwidth, and 20 ...

Coplanar waveguide gyroelectric circulator

International Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering, 2002
A three-port coplanar waveguide semiconductor circulator is analyzed. A theoretical 60-GHz N-type indium antimonide design at an operating temperature of 77 K is presented with a 20-dB isolation bandwidth of approximately 25%. A six-port microstrip ferrite circulator is also designed to provide a validity check using the ANSOFTTM High Frequency ...

Analysis of the Superconducting Coplanar Waveguide

20th European Microwave Conference, 1990, 1990
This paper presents a conductor loss calculation of the high Tc superconducting coplanar waveguide (CPW) by using Phenomenological Equivalence Method (PEM) and two fluid model. In this method, the equivalent strip line is obtained by calculating the equivalent width and thickness of CPW by considering the field penetration into the center conductor and

Circulator with coplanar waveguide structure

physica status solidi (b), 2004
AbstractA small size circulator with a coplanar waveguide structure was designed and its transmission characteristics were analyzed using a high frequency electromagnetic simulation based on 3D FEM. The circulator consisted of a YIG ferrite substrate and a transmission line and a ground.
