Copper intrauterine devices and the small intestine. [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ, 1978
Copper 7 and Copper T IUDs have a tendency to enter the peritoneal cavity. Three cases of embedded Copper 7s found two lodged in the small intestine and one in the posterior surface of the uterus. All three patients made satisfactory recoveries from the removal operation.

Contrasting Analog and Digital Resistive Switching Memory Characteristics in Solution-Processed Copper (I) Thiocyanate and Its Polymer Electrolyte Based Memristive Devices [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Usually, resistive switching (RS) devices show digital RS memory (sharp SET and RESET process), which is most suitable for digital data storage applications. Some RS devices also manifest ideal memristive behavior or analog memory characteristics (gradual change in resistance states).

Erosion of an intrauterine contraceptive device into the urinary bladder: A case report

open access: yesCase Reports in Women's Health, 2021
Intrauterine contraceptive devices may rarely erode into the urinary bladder, usually shortly after insertion. This case report describes the presentation and management of a copper-bearing intrauterine device which had eroded into the bladder.

Missing Intrauterine Device Copper-T: Case Series

open access: yesJournal of Nepal Health Research Council, 2018
An intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) is a long acting, highly effective, economic and reversible method of contraception used worldwide. The most used devices are copper IUD (Copper-T) or Progesterone IUD. Common complications include failed insertion, pain, vasovagal reactions, infection, menstrual abnormalities, expulsion and rarely uterine ...

A copper negative index metamaterial in the visible / near-infrared [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We propose a design for a plasmonic copper metamaterial with a negative index of refraction at visible/near-infrared wavelengths. Using numerical simulations, we demonstrate negative refraction by a copper metamaterial prism, and perform a parameter extraction technique to verify the sign of the effective, electric permittivity and magnetic ...

The lost intrauterine levonorgestrel-releasing system in women with adenomyosis: A case report

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports, 2022
The intrauterine device (IUD) is one type of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) method available. The objective of this article was to report the case of a symptomatic partial expulsion of IUD. A 41-year-old woman presented herself to Dr.

Single-crystal field-effect transistors based on copper phthalocyanine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Copper phthalocyanine (Cu-Pc) single crystals were grown by physical vapor transport and field effect transistors (FETs) on the surface of these crystals were prepared. These FETs function as p-channel accumulation-mode devices. Charge carrier mobilities of up to 1 cm2/Vs combined with a low field-effect threshold were obtained.
