Copper Loss Analysis of EV Charging Coupler
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2015Electric vehicles numbers are increasing but they still have issues with range between charges. Battery pack energy density is still low compared to the density of fossil fuel so it is advantageous to offer more recharging windows. This will also reduce consumer “range anxiety”.

Copper loss from the copper T model TCu22OC.
Contraception, 1983The effect of mineral deposits on the copper dissolution rate of the Copper T Model TCu22OC was examined. 118 Copper T22OC devices removed from subjects for various medical and personal reasons after 12 to 72 months in utero were examined and graded based on the proportion of the total copper area covered with mineral deposits.

Suppression of Copper Thin Film Loss during Graphene Synthesis
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2015Thin metal films can be used to catalyze the growth of nanomaterials in place of the bulk metal, while greatly reducing the amount of material used. A big drawback of copper thin films (0.5-1.5 μm thick) is that, under high temperature/vacuum synthesis, the mass loss of films severely reduces the process time due to discontinuities in the metal film ...

Astrocytes Protect Against Copper-Catalysed Loss of Extracellular Glutathione
Neurochemical Research, 2008Glutathione (GSH) is one of the major antioxidants in the brain. GSH is secreted by astrocytes and this extracellular GSH is used by neurones to maintain and increase their intracellular GSH levels. For efficient GSH trafficking between astrocytes and neurones, GSH needs to be maintained in the reduced form.

Iron and copper loss measurement in transformers
Electrical Engineering, 1958IT IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE to improve the accuracy of measurement of transformer iron and copper losses. Unless accurate measurements are available, it is difficult to evaluate the benefit of modifications in processes and constructions intended to reduce the winding eddy losses, stray losses in the tanks, and the iron loss.

Copper toxicity in Alzheimer's disease: Cognitive loss from ingestion of inorganic copper
Journal of Trace Elements in Medicine and Biology, 2012In this review I present the hypothesis that a toxic substance, inorganic copper, ingested from drinking water and vitamin/mineral supplements containing inorganic copper, is at least partially causal of the epidemic of Alzheimer's disease (AD) we are seeing in developed countries.

2017 Twelfth International Conference on Ecological Vehicles and Renewable Energies (EVER), 2017
the goal of this paper is to present a comprehensive method to optimize the dq reference frame current of a permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) including both copper and iron losses. The originality of the article concerns on the one hand the direct consideration of a resistance modeling iron loss in the circuit model and on the other hand the ...

Dielectric Loss Characteristics of Copper-Contaminated Transformer Oils
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2010The relationships between the total copper content, both in dissolved and suspended form, and the dielectric loss characteristics were examined in transformer-type oils. It was established that the dielectric losses in the oils are a function of the total copper content.

Secondary-electron and energy-loss spectra of copper
Surface Science, 1992Abstract The spectra of secondary electrons from copper show structure up to a kinetic energy of 300 eV, analogous to features observed in electron energy loss spectroscopy. We report EELS and SE data, up to 300 eV, obtained for a Cu(100) surface in order to show that they both are closely related to the unoccupied DOS.

Automated copper loss calculation for switched reluctance machines
2013 15th European Conference on Power Electronics and Applications (EPE), 2013Copper loss calculation in switched reluctance machines is important to predict efficiency and to predict temperature hotspots in the machine. Established calculation methods for alternating current (AC) copper losses are either inaccurate or time consuming.
