Acid Resistant and Highly Silver Selective Membranes Based on Charged Nanoporous 2D‐Materials

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
In this work, new membranes based on charged & nanoporous nanosheets with unprecedented selectivity to silver versus a wide range of other metallic ions are reported. Furthermore, a demonstrated and lead specific intralamellar lead pathway is demonstrated. A potential applicability for ubiquitous silver in WEEE is validated.

Models of color metal production in the Urals in the Early Iron Age

open access: yesВестник археологии, антропологии и этнографии, 2018
There were various models of metal production among the population of the Itkul and the Savromat archaeological cultures during the Early Iron Age in the Central and South Urals. The Itkul culture is a culture of miners and metallurgists.

Influence of Steel Recycling on Phase Transformation in Medium‐Manganese Third‐Generation Advanced High‐Strength Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
On the pathway to climate‐neutral steel production, recycling fractions will necessarily increase over time. Since alloying elements will enrich progressively, as they cannot be removed economically from the melt, processes need to be adjusted.

Development and optimization of mixed sulphide/oxide copper ore treatment at Kansanshi

open access: yesJournal of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, 2015
The Kansanshi Mine (First Quantum Minerals Ltd) treats a mixed sulphide/oxide copper-gold vein deposit. Until June 2009, the sulphide and oxide minerals were respectively recovered by the well established xanthate flotation of sulphides and acid leaching of soluble oxide copper.

Recycling End‐of‐Life Solid Oxide Cell Interconnect Assemblies into Commercial‐Grade AISI 304 Stainless Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study validates a recycling pathway for converting interconnect assemblies from end‐of‐life SOC stacks into commercial‐grade AISI 304 steels. Using scrap‐based steelmaking operations, austenitic cast steels with <4.0% δ‐ferrite are successfully produced.

THE MICROWAVE IRRADIATION EFFECT ON THE FLOATABILITY OF MIXED SULPHIDE/OXIDE COPPER ORES

open access: yesRudarsko-geološko-naftni Zbornik, 2021
Pre-treatment of copper sulphide and oxide ores using microwave radiation causes a difference in their floatability through change in the surface properties of the minerals.

Thermodynamic Modeling of Sn–C and Fe–Sn–C Systems for the Tramp Elements Control in Steel Production

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
A CALculation of PHAse Diagrams thermodynamic modeling for Fe–Sn–C system is carried out. The model and the developed database can be used to calculate phase diagrams and thermodynamic properties of this system over wide temperature/composition range, and a part of a larger thermodynamic database for steel and alloy system, and effectively used to ...

Bio-treatment and water reuse as feasible treatment approaches for improving wastewater management during flotation of copper ores [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Environmental Science and Technology, 2016
Established and emerging technologies for treatment of flotation wastewaters are compared and discussed in the context of their applicability during the management of wastewaters from Cu–Co ores processing through flotation in the Katanga province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Outline of a Washing Treatment to Improve Electric Arc Furnace Slag Environmental Behavior

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This study evaluates a water‐washing treatment for electric arc furnace slag to reduce the leaching of hazardous elements (Cr, Ba, Mo, and V), enabling its reuse. The process effectively decreases leachate concentrations. Using the treated slag as a substitute aggregate in concrete reduces greenhouse gases emissions by 42.5% compared to landfilling ...

Looking for Accurate Forecasting of Copper TC/RC Benchmark Levels

open access: yesComplexity, 2019
Forecasting copper prices has been the objective of numerous investigations. However, there is a lack of research about the price at which mines sell copper concentrate to smelters. The market reality is more complex since smelters obtain the copper that
