Wood-Powder-Template-Based Syntheses and Tribology of Copper Oxide Particles as Lubricating Oil Additives

open access: yesTribology Online, 2020
Copper based particles were synthesized by a wood-powder-template-based process. Wood powders mixed with an aqueous cooper salt solution were heated under N2 gas flow, and then, the mixture of the charcoal powder and copper particles were heated in air ...

Physical modelling of representative particles of electrodeposited copper powders [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2006
A method for the estimation of the size of the representative particle of a copper powder is given. Cross sections of representative particles of flowing and non-flowing powders estimated by this procedure are also presented.

Crystallite size distribution and dislocation structure determined by diffraction profile analysis: principles and practical application to cubic and hexagonal crystals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Two different methods of diffraction profile analysis are presented. In the first, the breadths and the first few Fourier coefficients of diffraction profiles are analysed by modified Williamson-Hall and Warren-Averbach procedures. A simple and pragmatic

Structural Investigations of TiC–Cu Nanocomposites Prepared by Ball Milling and Spark Plasma Sintering

open access: yesMetals, 2017
In this work, TiC–Cu composites containing 20 and 30 vol % of nano-sized titanium carbide (TiC) particles were prepared by powder metallurgy using copper powders with micrometer-sized and nanometer-sized particles.

In-situ processing of TiB2 nanoparticle-reinforced copper matrix composites [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Sintering, 2009
In order to produce the composite powder analyzed in this paper, two prealloys were melted and afterwards gas atomized. The obtained TiB2-reinforced copper powder was consolidated by hot isostatic pressing (HIP).

Effect of processing condition and composition on the microhardness of Cu-(2.5-10)vol.%Al₂O₃ nanocomposite powder particles produced by high energy mechanical milling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Nanostructured Cu-(2.5-10vol.%)Al₂O₃ nanocomposites were produced using high energy mechanical milling. For the as-milled Cu- Al₂O₃ composite powder particles having Al₂O₃ volume fractions of 2.5% and 5%, the increase in average microhardness is ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Using hydrophilic ionic liquid, [bmim]BF4-ethylene glycol system as a novel media for the rapid synthesis of copper nanoparticles. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
In this work, we present a novel method for the synthesis of copper nanoparticles. We utilize the charge compensatory effect of ionic liquid [bmim]BF(4) in conjunction with ethylene glycol for providing electro-steric stabilization to copper ...
