Modification of physiochemical properties of copra meal by dilute acid hydrolysis

International Journal of Food Science & Technology, 2013
SummaryCoconut residue or copra meal (CM), a by‐product after pressing cream and oil out of the coconut meat, is a good source of dietary fibre (DF), but high water‐holding capacity (WHC) of CM limits the quantity of fibre incorporated into food products.

Standardized total tract digestibility of phosphorus in copra meal, palm kernel expellers, palm kernel meal, and soybean meal fed to growing pigs

Journal of Animal Science, 2014
Sixty-six barrows (initial BW: 27.4 ± 2.8 kg) were used to determine the standardized total tract digestibility (STTD) of P in copra meal (CM), palm kernel expellers from Indonesia (PKE-IN), palm kernel expellers from Costa Rica (PKE-CR), palm kernel meal from Costa Rica (PKM), and soybean meal (SBM) without or with exogenous phytase.

The use of expeller copra meal in grower and finisher pig diets

Livestock Production Science, 2000
Abstract Two experiments were conducted to determine the nutritive value of copra meal for grower and finisher pigs (40–95 kg). The apparent nutrient digestibility of copra meal, when included at 200 and 400 g kg−1 in the diet of both the grower and finisher pig, was determined in experiment 1.

Enzyme Supplementation of Commercial Feed Diluted with Copra Meal for Laying Hens

Indian Journal of Animal Nutrition, 2019
The study investigated the effect of enzyme supplementation of commercial feed diluted with copra meal in laying hens. Two hundred 126 d old Shaver Star-Cross pullets were fed commercial feed alone or diluted with 2 levels (20 and 30%) of copra meal (CM) with or without enzyme in 4 replicates of 10 birds each.

Effects of different copra meals and amino acid supplementation on broiler chick growth

British Poultry Science, 1992
1. The effects of including copra meals from different sources in nutritionally-balanced broiler chick diets were compared. A meal screw press-expelled twice to contain 75 g residual lipid/kg produced a lower growth rate than a meal pressed once to contain 220 g lipid/kg. 2.

Digestible and metabolizable energy concentrations in copra meal, palm kernel meal, and cassava root fed to growing pigs.

Journal of animal science, 2013
An experiment was conducted to measure DE and ME in copra (Cocos nucifera) meal (CM), palm kernel meal (PKM), and cassava (Manihot esculenta) root (CR) in growing pigs. Eight boars with an initial BW of 67.3 ± 5.8 kg were individually housed in metabolism crates that were equipped with a feeder and a nipple drinker.
