How does collaborative economy contribute to common good?

open access: yesBusiness Ethics, the Environment &Responsibility, Volume 32, Issue S2, Page 68-83, September 2023., 2023
Abstract Collaborative economy emerged as a response to the need of people to exchange, produce and share in a more humane and cooperative manner. However, the growth of collaborative economy organizations and the terminological confusion have led to debates about their possible effects, both positive and negative.

Knowledge diffusion and morality: Why do we freely share valuable information with Strangers?

open access: yesJournal of Economics &Management Strategy, Volume 32, Issue 1, Page 75-99, Spring 2023., 2023
Abstract This article offers a model integrating heterogeneously moral preferences to overcome the seemingly irrational tendency of individuals to freely share data and knowledge. We build on recent literature showing that moral preferences are favored by evolution theoretically, and have a strong explanatory power empirically, to model individual ...

Credit Where Credit Is Due: Data and Software in the Space Weather Community

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 20, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract This editorial aims to improve awareness of the current best practices in open research, and stimulate discussion on the practical implementation of AGU's data and software policy in key areas of space weather research. We also further aim to encourage authors to take additional steps to ensure clear credit to all contributors to the work ...

Combining Phi6 as a surrogate virus and computational large‐eddy simulations to study airborne transmission of SARS‐CoV‐2 in a restaurant

open access: yesIndoor Air, Volume 32, Issue 11, November 2022., 2022
Abstract COVID‐19 has highlighted the need for indoor risk‐reduction strategies. Our aim is to provide information about the virus dispersion and attempts to reduce the infection risk. Indoor transmission was studied simulating a dining situation in a restaurant. Aerosolized Phi6 viruses were detected with several methods.

Time‐Dependent Electron Transport I: Modelling of Supra‐Thermal Electron Bursts Modulated at 5–10 Hz With Implications for Flickering Aurora

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 127, Issue 6, June 2022., 2022
Abstract A time‐dependent multi‐stream electron transport model, AURORA, has been developed for studies of auroral emission‐rates during precipitation with large variations on sub‐second time‐scales. The transport‐code accurately takes time‐of‐flight, energy degradation, scattering and production of secondary electrons into account.

QUANTAS: a Python software for the analysis of thermodynamics and elastic behavior of solids from ab initio quantum mechanical simulations and experimental data

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, Volume 55, Issue 2, Page 386-396, April 2022., 2022
This paper presents QUANTAS, an open‐source Python‐based software aimed at providing a fast, flexible and easy‐to‐use framework to calculate the thermodynamics and elastic properties of crystalline solids. QUANTAS could be of use for researchers involved in various fields of solid‐state chemistry, physics and mineralogy.Mineralogy, petrology and ...

Institutional incongruence and unauthorized copying in Poland

open access: yesThe Journal of World Intellectual Property, Volume 25, Issue 1, Page 3-30, March 2022., 2022
Abstract The aim of this article was to find out how the cognitive dissonance resulting from the occurrence of institutional incongruence in the context of copying information goods in online society is reduced. The implementation of this goal required conceptualization work and empirical research.

ModVizPop: A shiny interface for empowering teams to perform interactive pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic simulations

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 10, Issue 11, Page 1323-1331, November 2021., 2021
Abstract ModVizPop is an interactive and dynamic visualization tool developed for simulating differential equation–based population pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) models with variability. It has a built‐in PK/PD ordinary differential equations library of models to choose from alongside the ability to plug in a user‐defined model from a ...

Poly I:C‐induced maternal immune challenge reduces perineuronal net area and raises spontaneous network activity of hippocampal neurons in vitro

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 53, Issue 12, Page 3920-3941, June 2021., 2021
Pregnant BALB/c dams received Poly I:C injections at gestation day 9.5 in order to induce an activation of the maternal immune system. At gestation day 15.5 embryonic mice were isolated and hippocampi were prepared as well as digested to a single cell suspension.

Code sharing in ecology and evolution increases citation rates but remains uncommon. [PDF]

open access: yesEcol Evol
Biologists increasingly rely on computer code to collect and analyze their data, reinforcing the importance of published code for transparency, reproducibility, training, and a basis for further work. Here, we conduct a literature review examining temporal trends in code sharing in ecology and evolution publications since 2010, and test for an ...
