Purkinje fibres show strong desmin but no α‐SMA expression, providing detailed insights into cardiovascular morphology and adaptations in birds, supporting comparative and conservation studies.

Abstract We report a rare case of postmortem scavenging by cats in Japan involving the skeletonized remains of a woman in her 80s discovered in a locked, garbage‐filled room. The body was missing many bones, including vertebrae other than the atlas with odontoid process.

The excellently preserved toad fossil was found the Middle Miocene (Badenian) lower freshwater-brackish diatomite layers in Szurdokpüspöki, Mátra Mountains, northern Hungary. This is the first amphibian fossil of the locality.
