Breaking down seagrass fragmentation in a marine heatwave impacted World Heritage Area
Remote Sensing in Ecology and Conservation, EarlyView.Habitat fragmentation can exacerbate the impacts of habitat loss but is rarely quantified in marine environments. Using satellite‐derived habitat maps, we identify widespread seagrass fragmentation following a marine heatwave that contributed to a dramatic shift in seascape structure in the Shark Bay World Heritage Area.
