Solar‐Driven Interfacial Evaporation: Functional Materials, Structural Innovations, Synergistic Light–Heat–Mass Transfer Mechanisms, and Practical Applications

open access: yesCarbon Neutralization, Volume 5, Issue 3, May 2026.
This review focuses on solar‐driven interfacial evaporation (SIE) for sustainable desalination, covering material design, performance, and applications. It also discusses current challenges and future directions, positioning SIE as a key technology to address global water scarcity. ABSTRACT The global freshwater crisis, intensified by population growth

Photophysics of Biological and Biomimetic Sunscreen Molecules

open access: yesChemPhotoChem, Volume 10, Issue 5, May 2026.
Recent photochemical and photophysical research into natural and nature‐inspired UV filter molecules is reviewed, with a focus on the application of these systems in next‐generation sunscreens. The results of time‐resolved UV spectroscopy experiments and theoretical studies are discussed.

Mesophotic animal forests of the Aegean Sea support fish diversity hotspots under high fishing pressure

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Marine animal forests (MAFs) are dense aggregations of habitat‐forming species that constitute essential habitats for diverse taxa including fish. However, the study of MAFs and their associated fauna remains largely skewed to their shallowest occurrence, above 30 m depth.

From immunity to community: A predictive trait space model for white plague disease on Caribbean reefs

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Disease outbreaks have played important roles in structuring communities. Therefore, the ability of individuals within populations to resist disease and their corresponding immune and molecular‐scale traits may provide a basis for predicting community dynamics of ecosystems facing disease outbreaks.

Nutrient enrichment strengthens feedbacks that promote and stabilize coral‐to‐macroalgae regime shifts on tropical reefs

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Ecosystems around the world have experienced shifts in community state as a result of anthropogenic activities that alter important ecological feedbacks. On coral reefs, transitions to a state where fleshy macroalgae are a major space holder have often been associated with the loss of top‐down control, which frequently has been attributed to ...

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia with IGH::BCL3‐translocation is characterized by a homogeneous and distinct genetic and epigenetic landscape

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Approximately 1% of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cases harbor a translocation juxtaposing the immunoglobulin heavy chain (IGH) and B‐cell lymphoma 3 (BCL3) loci. Aiming at comprehensive molecular characterization of IGH::BCL3‐positive B‐cell neoplasms, we here investigated samples from 84 patients using fluorescence in situ hybridization
