How reliable are Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cell genome-scale metabolic models? [PDF]

open access: yesBiotechnol Bioeng, 2023
In this work, Strain et al present a new consolidated Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell Genome‐scale Model (GEM), iCHO2441. They assess the predictive performance of this model against previous CHO cell GEMs by comparison with experimentally measured growth rates, gene essentialities, amino acid auxotrophies, and 13C intracellular reaction rates.

Application of a Nursing Data-Driven Model for Continuous Improvement of PICC Care Quality.

open access: yesJ Healthc Eng, 2022
A PICC catheter maintenance network was established and managed to monitor the maintenance of catheters in placed patients throughout the process, providing homogeneous PICC catheter continuity of care for patients. Model‐driven thinking is an idea for simulation system development.

Alpha‐1‐acid glycoprotein and its potential impact on local anesthetic dose in neonates

open access: yesPediatric Anesthesia, Volume 33, Issue 7, Page 571-576, July 2023., 2023
Abstract Background Alpha‐1‐acid glycoprotein is an acute‐phase protein with a high affinity for amide local anesthetics. Compared to adults, neonates have lower concentrations of this glycoprotein in plasma, and are therefore at higher risk of developing local anesthetic toxicity.

Evidence Based Estimation of Macrodispersivity for Groundwater Transport Applications

open access: yesGroundwater, Volume 61, Issue 3, Page 346-362, May/June 2023., 2023
Abstract The scope of this work is to discuss the proper choice of macrodispersion coefficients in modeling contaminant transport through the advection dispersion equation (ADE). It is common to model solute concentrations in transport by groundwater with the aid of the ADE.
