The giant umbilical cord [PDF]
The giant umbilical cord is a rare malformation of the umbilical cord that can easily be diagnosed on prenatal scans and is unmistakable postnatally. We report a case to highlight issues of this rare finding. Visual diagnosis is easy and surgical repair is usually required.

Abstract Purpose Volumetric‐modulated arc therapy (VMAT) treatment planning allows a compromise between a sufficient coverage of the planning target volume (PTV) and a simultaneous sparing of organs‐at‐risk (OARs). Particularly in the case of lung tumors, deciding whether it is possible or worth spending more time on further improvements of a treatment

Abstract Purpose An evaluation of the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of the Halcyon ring delivery system (RDS) for stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) treatment to relatively small (1–3 cm) brain lesions. Methods After completing the extensive in‐house quality assurance checks including Winston–Lutz test and independent dose verification via MD Anderson ...

On Schatten-von Neumann class properties of pseudo-differential operators. The Cordes-Kato method [PDF]
We investigate the Schatten-class properties of pseudo-differential operators with the (revisted) method of Cordes and Kato. As symbol classes we use classes similar to those of Cordes in which the $L^{\infty}$% -conditions are replaced by $L^{p}$-conditions, $1\leq p<\infty $.

Repurposing TREC-COVID Annotations to Answer the Key Questions of CORD-19 [PDF]
The novel coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) began in Wuhan, China in late 2019 and to date has infected over 14M people worldwide, resulting in over 750,000 deaths. On March 10, 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak a global pandemic.

\u3cem\u3eEx Vivo\u3c/em\u3e Diffusion Tensor Imaging of Spinal Cord Injury in Rats of Varying Degrees of Severity [PDF]
The aim of this study was to characterize magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in proximal regions of the spinal cord following a thoracic spinal cord injury (SCI). Sprague–Dawley rats (n = 40) were administered a control, mild, moderate, or

On Schatten-von Neumann class properties of pseudo-differential operators. Cordes' lemma [PDF]
We prove an extended version of Cordes' lemma concerning trace-class properties of some special pseudo-differential operators. This version of Cordes' lemma is used to improve the results in \cite{Arsu} concerning the Schatten-class properties of pseudo-differential operators in the $(X,\tau) $-quantization.

A Brain–Spinal Interface Alleviating Gait Deficits after Spinal Cord Injury in Primates
Spinal cord injury disrupts the communication between the brain and the spinal circuits that orchestrate movement. To bypass the lesion, brain–computer interfaces have directly linked cortical activity to electrical stimulation of muscles, and have thus ...

Mitochondrial DNA disorders in neuromuscular diseases in diverse populations
Abstract Neuromuscular features are common in mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) disorders. The genetic architecture of mtDNA disorders in diverse populations is poorly understood. We analysed mtDNA variants from whole‐exome sequencing data in neuromuscular patients from South Africa, Brazil, India, Turkey and Zambia. In 998 individuals, there were two definite

Most established clinical walking tests assess specific aspects of movement function (velocity, endurance, etc.) but are generally unable to determine specific biomechanical or neurological deficits that limit an individual’s ability to walk.
