Introduction to Gauge Theory of Gravitation

open access: yes, 2019
The fundamental interactions of nature, the electroweak and the quantum chromodynamics, are described in the Standard Model by the Gauge Theory under internal symmetries that maintain the invariance of the functional action.

Valorization of Garcinia humilis Residues in Active Collagen/Starch Films for Biodegradable Packaging Applications

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, EarlyView.
Residues from Garcinia humilis were used to obtain a phenolic‐rich extract (GHRE) and incorporated into collagen–starch films. The addition of GHRE improved antioxidant activity, thermal stability and elasticity, while reducing water vapour permeability.

Mimic Grasping: A Modular and Flexible Programming‐by‐Demonstration Robotic Grasping Solution

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Industry 5.0 concept guides the industry to the premise of sustainability, resilience and human‐centric solutions. The last related pillar tries to create solutions to empower the people in production line processes since solutions should be designed to be easy to use and easy to learn without discarding the working people. In this regard,

Influence of dexamethasone and surfactant in the vitality and lung function of preterm lambs born by cesarean section

open access: yesArquivo Brasileiro de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia
The aim of this study was to assess the vitality and lung function of preterm lambs. Twenty seven preterm lambs were divided in four groups. Group I (n=6) preterm lambs/ control; group II (n=9) lambs born to mothers that were treated with dexamethasone ...

The Burr XII-Burr XII Distribution: Mathematical Properties and Characterizations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We introduce a new continuous distribution called the Burr XII-Burr XII distribution. Some of its properties are derived. The method of maximum likelihood is used to estimate the unknown parameters.

Improved maximum likelihood estimators in a heteroskedastic errors-in-variables model

open access: yes, 2011
This paper develops a bias correction scheme for a multivariate heteroskedastic errors-in-variables model. The applicability of this model is justified in areas such as astrophysics, epidemiology and analytical chemistry, where the variables are subject ...

Experimental and ReaxFF‐MD Insights Into the Suppression Mechanism of Melamine Cyanurate on Aluminum Dust Explosion

open access: yesSafety Science and Technology, EarlyView.
This study experimentally determined that the critical suppression concentration of MCA for 30 μm aluminum dust is 750–800 g/m3. An atomic‐scale Al/suppressants combustion suppression model was established, revealing the microscopic mechanism that hinders oxidation and combustion of cAl atoms, and elucidating the synergistic physical–chemical ...

Nocturnal neighbors: exploring residents' perceptions of urban wildlife related to animal traits identified by camera traps and literature

open access: yesWildlife Biology, EarlyView.
Wildlife in urban areas is often a source of conflict, yet relatively few efforts have been directed toward fostering coexistence in these human‐dominated landscapes. While previous research has focused on socio‐demographic factors influencing perceptions of wildlife, the role of specific animal traits in shaping acceptance remains underexplored.
