Temperature‐driven color lightness and body size variation scale to local assemblages of European Odonata but are modified by propensity for dispersal

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 10, Issue 16, Page 8936-8948, August 2020., 2020
We quantified the color lightness and body volume of 99 European dragon‐ and damselflies (Odonata) and combined this trait information with survey data for 518 local assemblages across Europe to test whether trait‐environment relationships previously reported at coarse spatial scales also hold for spatially explicit local assemblages.

A List of the Odonata of the La Rue-pine Hills Ecological Area [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A survey of the adult odonate fauna of the La Rue-Pine Hills Ecological Area, Union County, Illinois, was conducted during 1983-1985. Thirty six. species were collected including the damselfly Telebasis byersi Westfall; this damselfly is known to occur ...

Flying activity and population dynamics of Cordulegaster heros Theischinger, 1979 (Insecta: Odonata: Cordulegastridae) in Slovakia

open access: yesInternational Journal of Odonatology, 2020
In 2017, we investigated the population dynamics and flying activity of the south-east European endemic dragonfly species Cordulegaster heros Theischinger, 1979.

New site of Cordulegaster heros Theischinger, 1979 in western Slovakia – the confirmation of its northern border of range of occurrence in Europe (Odonata: Cordulegastridae)

open access: yesEcologica Montenegrina, 2020
This paper is a short report based on material collected in the scope of hydrobiological research in Western Carpathians: Cordulegaster heros Theischinger, 1979 was recorded in west Slovakia, approximately 90 km E-NE of Bratislava, Slovakia.

Species and life stages of Odonata nymphs sampled with large drift nets in two Wisconsin rivers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Because relatively few nymphs of Odonata are caught in most drift studies, they have been inconsistently reported and little is known about the species and life stages that are predisposed to drift.

18S rRNA metabarcoding diet analysis of a predatory fish community across seasonal changes in prey availability

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 9, Issue 3, Page 1410-1430, February 2019., 2019
Predator–prey relationships are important ecological interactions, affecting biotic community composition and energy flow through a system. This study used sequences from the 18S V9 rRNA barcoding region to identify prey items in the gastrointestinal (GI) tracts of predators taken from the Black River, Cheboygan Co., MI (n = 367 samples, 12 predator ...
