Rectangular core-collapse supernova remnants

2022
Core-collapse supernova remnants are the gaseous nebulae of galactic interstellar media (ISM) formed after the explosive death of massive stars. Their morphology and emission properties depend both on the surrounding circumstellar structure shaped by the stellar wind-ISM interaction of the progenitor star and on the local conditions of the ambient ...

3D Core-Collapse Supernova Calculations

2004
Recent observations of the polarization of the light emitted by supernova explo-sions indicate that there are large deviations from spherical symmetry in the very heart of these explosions. Asymmetries may well play a key role in the explosion mechanism. So far there is no convincing theoretical explanation for these observations.
