TacScope: A Miniaturized Vision‐Based Tactile Sensor for Surgical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
TacScope is a compact, vision‐based tactile sensor designed for robot‐assisted surgery. By leveraging a curved elastomer surface with pressure‐sensitive particle redistribution, it captures high‐resolution 3D tactile feedback. TacScope enables accurate tumor detection and shape classification beneath soft tissue phantoms, offering a scalable, low‐cost ...

Glucose-responsive microgels with a core–shell structure

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2008
New multiresponsive core-shell microgels have been synthesized, with a thermoresponsive core and a glucose-responsive shell, made respectively of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (pNIPAM) and pNIPAM-co-acrylamidophenylboronic acid (pNIPAM-co-APBA). The structure of the particles was elucidated by means of dynamic light scattering.

Core-Shell Structured Theranostics

Nano LIFE, 2021
Cancer threatens the life and well-being of human beings. Millions of newly diagnosed cancer cases and a large number of deaths caused by cancer are reported each year in the world. Early detection and effective treatment are key to reduce cancer mortality, which can be potentially realized by using “theranostics”.

Core−Shell-Structured Magnetic Ternary Nanocubes

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2010
We report a novel core-shell-structured ternary nanocube of MnZn ferrite synthesized by controlling the reaction temperature and composition in the absence of conventionally used reducing agents. The highly monodispersed core-shell structure consists of an Fe(3)O(4) core and an MnZn Ferrite shell.

Electronic Structures of the CdSe/CdS Core−Shell Nanorods

ACS Nano, 2009
The electronic structures of the CdSe/CdS core-shell nanorods are systemically investigated by large-scale first-principles quality calculations. The effects of band alignment, quantum confinement, piezoelectric field, and dipole moments are analyzed and delineated by comparing the results of systems with or without some of these attributes.

Toughening and reinforcing polypropylene with core–shell structured fillers

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1999
An elastomer/rigid particle filler with core-shell structure was prepared by twin-screw extruder according to an encapulation model. It was used to toughen and reinforce polypropylene (PP). An original idea of a one-step processing method was adopted in creating PP/polyoctene-ethylene/talc ternary composites.

Mesoporous Microspheres with Doubly Ordered Core−Shell Structure

Chemistry of Materials, 2008
The synthesis of doubly ordered core-shell silica based microspheres showing different ordered mesoporous arrangements in core and shell was described. Core mesoporous microspheres were made using an aerosol-assisted process in the presence of nonionic surfactant and the mesoporous shells encapsulating the core microspheres were added to the materials.

Core–shell nanohydrogel structures as tunable delivery systems

Polymer, 2007
Abstract Poly(acrylonitrile- co - N -isopropylacrylamide) (p(AN- co -NIPAM)) core–shell hydrogel nanoparticles were synthesized by microemulsion polymerization and their feasibility as a drug carrier was investigated. Highly monodispersed nanoparticles with desired size range – i.e., 50–150 nm – were prepared by adjusting the reaction conditions. The
